Stock 05 SS P0335 help

Hello all. been through a bunch of threads lots of broken links etc.
My 05 Supercharged SS 5 speed manual has been difficult to start as of recently, crank with no start. I pulled code P0335. Questions on changing it.
Drain the intercooler pump. and remove half saddle clamp, remove starter, then what? The car has 245,500 miles on it and since day one had a minor oil leak from somewhere around the oil filter above the starter.
Is there a common leak in that area that one could fix at some time? Figures I just did the starter for 2nd time about 3-4 months ago...
I picked up a AC Delco unit but the bag is open no o-ring and no shims some videos say set it to 0.030 others just put it in and re-learn.
Is re-learn mandatory? if so can it be done without going to the dealer?
Thanks for the help.

Do report back.
Never heard of having to set gap then do crank relearn after a simple replacement. At least not on any other EFI cars.

Well, I got the new replacement sensor. The sensor was not easy to get pushed in the hole, even with a coating of grease in the hole and a little on the sensor. I had to draw it in with the bolt and with a pry bar against a block of wood. Got everything back in and the starter that I replaced in august decided it no longer wanted to push out the gear...
Waited a week for RockAuto to send the replacement and installed it yesterday. This time I waited to put the intercooler pump in. The starter turned maybe two revolutions and the motor was running smoothly.
I've driven around the block and it seems to be back to my normal car!
Hurray, I have a hot rod that gets good mileage again.
