Supercharger Help - Pulley Wheel

Hi guys,

I just had a GM shop slap on my pulley wheel from intense. Went home and installed the supercharger and it was squealing like crazy.

What do I adjust.. and how?

Details.. 2.8 Modular Pulley System

I just drove it down the street, and the rib closest to the engine ripped right off... and the squealing stoped... What the hell!!!

the belt was not seated right. those two ribs that are uncovered on the left side of the pulley are where the left side of the belt should have been seated.

also, the hub holding the pulley should be flush with the snout of the supercharger. it does not look this way from the pictures, but it is tough to tell. if so, the pulley is too far to the left and could have been the cause of the belt shifting rightwards and off alignment. can you get a better picture of the hub on the snout to verify this?

if the hub is not pushed in far enough on the snout, youll need to pick up a pulley puller/installer tool to press it in farther. but like i said, its not easy to tell with the supplied pictures if this is the case

Looks like what he ^ said is right. Either the hub is not on all the way or the pulley isn't on far enough and you are just going to be shredding belts all the time. Buying from intense is probably the mistake here

Okay, i'll get some more pictures. But your likely right. About the hub not being flush with the supercharger. I'll provide more pictures shortly.

if it is man, youll be able to tell. id seriously hope that a gm tech could figure out how far to press the hub on, but who knows. maybe if you cant tell by sight or feel, you can pull out a straight edge to see if the pulley is lined up with the idler pulley, or whatever.

good luck though, regardless.

It's not even close. what a fail. I put the belt closer to the inside just to make sure the belt lined up with the tensor. I'll try and check tomorrow if it lines up with the other pulleys etc.

Here is a picture I just found. THis looks just like I had mine set up..
