NO, no you cant. lol supercharger oil is high speed turbine oil, designed to work in a sealed case. You absolutely CANNOT use regular motor oil.

There was a TSB from GM released on the subject.

Show me the TSB, because motor oil is not a substitute for supercharger oil. Never was, never will be. That's a sure fire way to ruin the gears and bearings in the supercharger.

I know it's real that's why I posted it.

I'd still stick with the dedicated s/c oil if at all possible.

my mind is ****** blown over that, I dont even know why they would do that, motor oil isnt even remotely compatible with a supercharger, its not even made from the same base stock, SC oil ester oil. GM brand supercharger oil isnt 5w30 mobil 1, its NYE 605 lol

I know it is, hence turbine oil, which is exactly the reason I said that, mobil 1 5w30 is motor oil, not jet engine oil. lmao

Whatever this procedure is for its not for cobalt's however.

Lol the mysteries of the M62 explored!!

Yeah, I'd stick with the actual blower oil as well.

I just so happen to have a spare bottle the next time I decide to mess with the H62.
