System too lean bank 1 problem please help!

okay i know that this is a very popular code with these cars but i can’t find any posts relatable to mine, i have a 2007 SS/SC and i’ve had this code since i’ve had the car and i figured it wasn’t anything big but now it’s an issue, the guy who had the car before me made a sh*tty custom catless down pipe so its throwing the catalyst efficiency too low code but it’s throwing the fuel trim system too lean bank 1 code as well and i just fixed the flex pipe not too long ago but now the header is cracked all over and i just noticed when i saw the cracks in my header that my header and flex pipe now glow orange, i recently just installed a cold air intake before all of this happened as well and it’s a cheap intake off topgearautosports but it had no problem fitting in and the filter looks like good everything’s tight i just can’t figure it out. could it be the o2 sensors? could it have been throwing the code because there’s been maybe a small crack in the header i didn’t notice?

Providing the actual P code is helpful, but its likely the intake not being tuned for, and cracks in your header.

It's the intake. If you didn't find a thread about that code, you didn't search well enough. Very common problem with an intake on the OE tune. Pretty sure my first thread on this forum was about that code.

but it’s thrown that code before the intake and before the headers were cracked so why would the cold air intake or the cracked header be the reason?

The cracked flex pipe can also cause the code, along with a custom tune that is off and changing weather, the list goes on and on. But if you don't fix the intake and header you'll just keep throwing parts at it trying to fix the problem. Fix the broken header at least to see if the issue goes away. You shouldn't be a driving a car with a cracked header, and that needs to be fixed.

If it's the stock cast iron header, they tend to glow - all metals do when they gets hot... and typical EGT's tend to be in surplus of 1000°F. If the exhaust manifold is cracked and the primary O2 sensor's reading is being thrown off, then it could be running extra rich/lean, as well.

Thank you!! yeah i just ordered all the parts it’s gonna be a big fix 🥲 turns out my bottom motor/ trans mount is shot(btw if anyone can tell me what mount that is right next to the trans and the axle i can’t find it looking up trans mount or anything) and my ball joint is so shot it’s unsafe 😂 so i bought a new control arm as well but i bought a high flow cat with an o2 port, zzp shorty header, and both the upstream and downstream o2s

There are three transmission mounts on the car. One on top of the trans, immediately below the fuse box, one on the front of the transmission, and one on the back of the transmission.

I have stock mounts in my garage available for all three, as well as an upgraded front mount.
