Throttle Delay/Weirdness

So I have had this intermittent problem pop up with my car and the throttle.

Basically I will be driving fine and hit the gas and there is a noticable lag between the pedal going down and throttle responding.

I am not talking about the usually drive by wire lag, which I find non existant for the most part.
Basically when I press the pedal down it lags then the car hesitates and jerks forward under load. When it's in neutral, press down the pedal and it lags and the engine revs.

I can solve symptom with a reboot of the car. I don't mess with tapping the TPS/APP leads at all on my PCM. I thought it might be supercharger belt slip but it happens under no load as well so I can't imagine it is...

Anyone else had this happen?

I have something very similiar happening, but I have the 2.4l. If I had the SC, belt slip would be a good guess. But like I said I have the same problem. What I was thinking is that there might be a problem with VVT. Maybe the cams are getting stuck high and when we push in the throttle it stalls from not enough air vs. the fuel that would be being dumped in.

what u think?

I have driven 3 other SS/SC's from members here in Toronto and they all seem to have this hesitation that my car does not, very wierd. Hit the gas at any RPM any gear and the acceleration is instant in my car. It's not an 05 - 06 thing but I can't explain it.

Alright I had idea. I don't know if our cars have this in our ECU's, but Iknow some dodge's have it. It is learning comptuer, this is to get better gas milage. Meaning if you dont always beat your car and then suddley you do, it will hesitate, because it is sort of shock to the program it set up for you.
The reason I'm thinking this is because I havn't had that problem in awhile and now I drive my cobalt like all of my cars and no more hestitation so far.

Ok so I have made a connection I think. It only happens when you bounce the car off the redline. And once you turn the car on and off it works fine again.

I had a chat with someone who suggested it was anti abuse programming to stiffle the throttle, hence the lagging.

It is because our cars do not have a throttle cable. They are drive-by-wire. The throttle is computer controlled depending on how much resistance it reads from the gas pedal, it will adjust the throttle accordingly. There is going to be lag going through a computer as opposed to an instantaneous throttle cable. They will get better with response as these systems are advanced in new vehicles though.

This lag is really bad on newer F-150s.

I think it is the drive by wire system. If your are driving slowly in 1st and tap the gas really fast, there is a slight delay, you can feel it.
