Cobalt SS Problems?

After reading some more about the Cobalt SS, and their little problems, does anyone know when the GM Reflash is coming out, or is it already out.

I donno about getting an SS now because of its problems...Maybe the GM reflash will fix some.

I don't know what problems you are talking about. Such as the idling issue??? If so, they have a fix for that and should come with the new cobalts. Cold weather starts? They have a fix for that too. However, Check Engine Lights come on when you install an intake. However, the injen intake is going to throw the cel the least.

Well also things like the door panels (chipping, leather to short), steering wheel column, steer wheel controls, PCM, catalytic converter, etc.

How reliable are these cars once all of the problems are fixed, I dont think anyone knows yet. The Cobalt SS seems like a great performance car for the money too, but I would use the car as a daily driver and need something that is reliable.

I got the reflash for the cold start idle and it fixed everything. It's a first year car, of course there are going to be bugs. If you don't want to deal with them, then wait till the next generation comes out. But honestly, overall, I've had VERY few problems with this car.

see the ting is. On forums you ONLY hear about the problems so it seems these cars have tons. But think about it. prob 95% of the people here with cobalts have had no problems or very very little. People just dont make threads to say there is nothing wrong with there car. For me, I've had nothing wrong with my car and its up to 18000 miles :P going strong!

Thats what I want to hear about this car, I have found very few other problems with the car besides those small things. If its under warranty, I wouldnt care. But then on the other hand some people have visited the dealership like 15 times...

Im going to check out a blue '05 and a black '05 tomorrow. Anything I should look for in particular?

The passenger door panel, make sure the leather goes ll the way to the plastic handel, if it doesn't, tell the dealer and they'll probably order a new one. Make sure you do it while your there, though. Otherwise, if you buy the car and come back, they might not want to order one.

Anything else I could point out that "should" be fixed, or may need fixing later? Like the steering wheel U-joint (I think I read there really isnt a fix for it yet).

It's not the u-joint, it's the intermediate steering shaft and yes there is a fix for it. They just replace the shaft and problem solved. The bulletin number is 05-02-32-005C. There's a squeak/thump in the suspension too that's different from the one in the steering. It's not very prominent the only time I hear it is going over bumps in parking lots, that there is no fix for *YET* but GM is working on it. Other than that, that's it. BTW the bulletin for the general reflash (it fixes like 4 or 5 different things) is 05-08-49-020.
