i dont know if the reflashes are the same
well guys i know we all are pretty sure the flashes are the same for stg 1 and 2...BUT today when i ordered my stg 1 from the dealer he just got his gm performance order book in and let me look thru it and i found somthing interesting....stage 1= bigger injectors and a reflash we all know this....stage 2= bigger injectors reflash and belt and pulley and all hardware to install....THEN THE ONE THAT MAKES ME WONDER stage 1 to 2...it says in the gm book.. COMES WITH BELT .SMALLER PULLEY..ALL HARDWARE AND A REFLASH...so that means that if you already have stage 1..and buy 1 to 2 upgrade they are not the same because you get a reflash with that too....i know the 7k redline will always stay the same even if the refllashes are diffrent becuase our valvetrain would fall apart with much more rpms than that. so who is going to be the first to order stage 1 to 2 to see if it comes with a new reflash like it says it does.....

I'm assuming the reflash is no different than that of Stage 2. Maybe they are not the same! Maybe the reflash from Stage 1 just allows optimum performance with just larger injectors and the reflash for Stage 2 allows for optimum performance with the added smaller pulley

I don't know. Accoriding to some of the people who watched the tech do the reflash everything listed that was updated was "unknown".
I'm guessing the 2 are different. Stage 1 is probably optimised for optimum performance with just the injectors and Stage 2 is optimised for optimum performance with the addition of the smaller pulley

IT IS THE SAME REFLASH. Anyone who has already bought the kit can verify it. There is only ONE part number for a reflash for each year car. Also, in the directions for Stage 2 it says you only need to go get a reflash if you don't already have Stage 1 installed.

I'm still waiting on a phone call from the guy that installed my stage 2, this is a print out of the reflash summary that he left me in my car:
The part number I highlighted is close, but does not match what's listed in the instructions.
Listed in summary = #12607604
Listed in instructions = #12607644
I do have the 7k redline, now, but it just seems to really chug below 2500 rpms in normal driving compared to before, huge difference. I tried the NGK BKR7E plugs yesterday, didn't help any...

The ONLY PEOPLE who would know for sure are the ones that bought stage 1 first....and then bought the 1-2 upgrade OR Chevy dealers that have installed stage 1 and the stage 1-2 upgrades. They should be able to tell us if the car was reflashed twice.
Even though the reflash has the same part number in both kits, that does not mean that when the tech phones GM, he/she has to give the part # of the kit that you orderd which could mean that they send a different reflash depending on what stage you bought.
Besides....on GMPartsDiect, the stage 1-2 upgrade description clearly says that there is another reflash done to get from stage 1 to stage 2.
SOooo...if you bought stage 1 and then the 1-2 upgrade or if you are a dealer who has done the 1-2 upgrade in someones car: PLEASE SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT!!

Who cares what GMpartsdirect says. The site is not a GM site it is one owned and operated by a dealership. I'll take the information that comes with the kit over what a dealership says anyday of the week.

I'd still like some sort of confirmation on whether or not my car was flashed correctly or not. As shown above, the flash summary lists a slightly different number than that is shown on the instructions. Since my dealer has not returned any of my calls in the last 2 days, does anyone here know for sure what might be going on in my case? Is the number listed in the instructions a misprint and what is shown in the summary correct? Or does the number in the summary represent an incorrect calibration file?
Today I was having idling issues and starts from 1st gear were bogging horribly (it was 93 degrees out, too). I'm beginning to regret stage 2, now.

I believe WopOnTor said to get the correct CAL file the dealer needs to do the upload from the TIS2WEB system as the regular systems may not have the new CAL file

I need to pick up one of those gauges you guys use to check A/F ratio and knock retard, I guess. That and bitch-slap my dealer for ignoring me...

As WoP posted on the redline forums....
The only reason they ask Stage 1 or 2 when the tech calls for the flash file is to know which kit components get hooked into the GMPP warranty.

Wouldn't the ultimate solution for anyone simply be just go get a flash done again just for the hell of it?... That would pretty much solve any issues, if there were any.
Other then that, for those who don't have either of the kits right now, it sounds like it's a lot less hastle to simply go straight to the Stage2 upgrade.

So when I got to tis2web and punch in my VIN will these show up? Bc my Operating Software according to the tis2web website says 12601774.
It is very possible that they were changed because if u look at the initial release date on the instruction booklet it's says Jan 30 2006 - Initial Release Shawn Smith

The dealers no longer need to use TIS2WEB. Since the last update of TIS2000 the Stage calibrations are available locally. The calibration part numbers included in the Stage kit documentation are pretty much meaningless when it comes to the actual files that are uploaded to the PCM.
