Tick/knock and burning oil

My cobalt has picked up a tick or a slight knock noise that sounds like a timing chain knock. It is now burning oil like crazy also. I put oil in last week and its already all the way down on the dip stick.. Anyone have a problem like this or able to give me some input.

Sounds like a blown ring for the oil burning

id stop driving it, and put a piece of cardboard under your car, then leave it for a couple days and see if your leaking oil or burning. Also check your antifreeze and make sure you don't have oil in it, if you do, you have a bad head gasket .
