My balt ticks constantly... whether the car is on or off.. is it just mine that does this or is it a normal thing? it sounds like its coming from underneath. i bought it with 2800 miles and im up to 4800 now and its done it the entire time.

 

mine makes the sound of a ratchet wrench when i start it up... its annoying, going to get it checked out sooon.

when i had my balt i had the same question and they said it was the catalatic (sp) converter cooling down

 

Mine did it with the factory exhaust whether it was running, driving, or sitting there after driving. As soon as I got an aftermarket exhaust it went away. It only ticks a little now after driving, which is the metal cooling down. Its no big deal, dont worry about it.

its freakin annoying.. my friend in his rsx-s was right next to me and he was like " wut is that ticking?" i kept tellin him i didnt know, but thanks for the help
