Tireswap, Now It Pulls

I put the summer tires on this weekend, and now the car pulls slightly to the left. I swapped them from left to right but it is till there.

I have 15,000km on the car right now, only 1000km on the summers. I know some ppl had this problem. What was the fix and was it warranty.

The only thing I notice about it is that the lower profile of the summers makes the tires very sensitive to any little ripple in the road. If it's consistantly pulling to the left though, I don't know. Maybe the alignment got knocked out or something, which would not be covered under warranty.

but why did it only show up after the tire swap,is it because of the taller sidewall of the winters

Make sure there is actually a problem first, with the low pro's the tire will follow even the slightest groove inthe road. At first i thought something was wrong with the aligmnent but if its the tires it will pull to the left some times and to the right sometimes. If it only pulls one way it could be alignment wheel not tight enough, or a wear pattern on a specific tire. Just a few thoughts.

That's exactly why. The taller winters aren't as susceptible (I know I butchered the spelling) to grooves in the pavement, but low profiles are. And I mean to the point where if you're not paying attention or don't have both hands on the wheel, it can pull so hard you feel like you're going to lose control of the car. If nothing else has been done to it, I would suspect that's your issue. If you've hit a pothole or something that would seriously knock out your alignment, then that might be something to look into.

Bottom line, I think you're just feeling the vast difference between the sidewall of the winters and the sidewall of the summers.

Just a FYI, the dealership here in MI did a alignment on my car... he said they would cover it under warranty because the car had less than 12,500 miles on it (at the time). Check your dealer...they may be the same....

Damn Michigan roads

The pressure is at 32psi, and I did the tire swap last night side to side, still pulling. The dealer is going to take a look at it tonight. Hopefully they can figure it out. My biggest concern is for tire wear.

Yup.. Changed to the summer tires a couple days ago, and it pulls like crazy.. You really have to keep your hands on the wheel at all times or it can catch u off guard. It really makes me miss the winter tires.. Its pretty annoying.. I find that my wrists gets sore from having to hold the car in the lane..

I know its the wheel/tire combo. So there isnt much I can do but live with it..

Ill just add it to the **** off list on this car.
