i have this problem of sometimes when im stopping at a red light,,, when im at a complete stop,,, there is a big tock tock tock that comes out of nowhere but i thinks it from the back of teh car. What teh hell could that be??? plz help

 

i had that on my 88 monte carlo when i traded it in for my 2nd car when i was 18... my dad said it was a bent valve... not sure if the same'd apply here, but the sound i had was def coming from under the hood.

 

No it's not a bent valve. The sound that you heard came from the back of the car right? And It was pobably still kinda warming up?? It's basically the fuel system doing a check, and cleaning out the carbon in the cylinders. My Mom's Saturn Vue does it, and we all have heard that..Ghost in the trunk tapping for attention noise. Scared the **** outta me the first time I heard it

 

YES. i have herd this noise when i stopped. its like some one knocks on your rear side panel 3 times. but i hear it on mine when its shut off and your sitting there (5 min or so) and tap tap tap.

They all do it. I pertains to the emisions on our vehicles. Scared the **** outta me the first time I heard it, cause it was all late at night and I was looking for a CD before driving to work and I heard that knocking noise..lol
