Too much coolant?

I "thought" I was low on coolant, but boy was I wrong. I drove to Advanced Auto and grabbed some 50/50 and poured it in the coolant tank up to cold fill. Drove 20 feet and the car turns into a shaking misfiring piece. I drained what amount I put in the tank back out, but the engine is loudly clicking and moderately shaking. When I rev past 3k it flashes the CEL and it wont stop flashing. WTF is going on and how do I solve it???

Flashing CEL is typically misfiring, probably on multiple cyliders. Could have a bad head gasket. Could be a number of things. First thing you should do is have the codes checked as see what exact codes are being thrown.

Just pulled the plugs, they were all wet, looks like water maybe?? The liquid turned white shortly after pulling them. I did pull my injectors and clean them yesterday, could that have anything to do with it?? I used electronic parts cleaner. All 4 plugs are black as well.

Check the oil and see if there is water/coolant/foam in the oil. It sounds like you more than likely have a blown head gasket or at least a head problem of some sort.

Check your oil. see if there's coolant in the oil. it'll be brownish, and if you do its a headgasket or cracked block. had this happen to me last month, and needed a brand new motor.

Did you change the oil? You are only supposed to drive like 10 miles or so with the seafoam in the oil, then you change the oil.

I only put seafoam through the intake and the gas tank.

How much seafoam did you put in the gas tank, and how much gas was/is in the tank? It maybe that, or running seafoam through may have made a head gasket leak more visible now.

THIS is what the problem is.
Its the top left one and the one just to the right of that one.
I need to get a magnetic squiggly thing and find the rest of the broken pieces.
Can someone tell me what these broken parts are specifically so I can order new ones and put them in?

umm it'll take a little while. harder to them without taking the cam out. but if you take the cam out you have to retime the motor. happened to my brothers car except he floated all of his exhaust lifters

i shouldn't be that hard just time consuming and really tight to work with since you have limited room.

Alright. sweet. As long as its possible for me to do with my 2 portable tool sets, it just looks like I have to take off a couple things and push down on the valve springs a little.

cams coming out whether you want or not, you cant push down on the spring and slide the lifter in, and you cant loosent the cam caps and slide it in. you will end up scoring the cams...

maybe if you took the tensioner out and put all the slack towards the cam that needs to come up then you could possibly slide it in.

but be prepared to remove the cam gear and chain if that is not going as planned.

usually extended high rpm causes this.

ouch.

Plan on pulling the affected cam unless you want more problems. Not a big deal, just pull the front cover and re-time it.

I am unfamiliar with most of what I am doing, I have worked on engines and stuff for a few years, and taken apart parts of my car, dirtbikes, and nitro RC cars but I dont know if Im the right person to remove the cam and re-time.

Unless someone has a how-to or can give me advice etc. I have a phone if anyone wants to talk.

from your responses and other thread i would say your not the right person to do it, but that dont mean you cant attempt/try.

Though in order to do this a good way, my dad told me to start the car after installation, then like 30 seconds later shut it off, do an oil change and put in a lightweight oil so it can flow through the engine quickly and take any loose and broken parts with it and drop it to the bottom and through the oil filter. Then turn the car on again with the new oil and oil filter and run for 5 minutes on idle, then do another oil change with new oil filter and done.

Also, the little spring in side of the lifter piece obviously came out, but I lost it to underneath the timing chain, will it just chill down there and maybe fall through when I do an oil change, or is this pretty serious?

Let me know thanks!

i gave you a link that gave you step by step timing instructions and you blew it off saying thanks but i wont need none of that...............

you know magic? cause thats what its gonna take to get the lifters and rockers in without taking out the cam and re doing the timing...

what you thought i was talking out my ass? or what?
