Exclamation Tranny Help!

Alright guys let me hear your ideas of what is wrong.....

05 SS S/C

I guess i held second gear in a little too long and went to shift into third and it wouldnt go in at all. So i went to turn around and it wouldnt go into reverse at all. So then i went to go again and my clutch pedal had alot of pressure behind it and was very easy to stall but i babied it back to the house (drive normally no issues). So later that night i went back out and started it up and started to go through the gears and third made a grinding noise but still no reverse. The next day I couldnt put it in any gear at all. But Third was the only gear that still made the grinding noise. And thats how she sits out in the driveway. Any ideas???

sounds like a clutch cylinder issue?

i would have said shifter cables....but the pressure from the clutch definately points to the clutch being at fault here.

sounds like s spring has come out of the clutch disk. im doing a clutch on an eco cavalier right now at work with the same issue. the spring falls out and jams the clutch against the flywheel bolts and wont allow it to go into gear. the spring will fall back into place and the clutch will work just fine.

ya need a clutch

my 06 ss/sc wont go into reverse unless i put it in 1sy gear first but you probably already know that. but seriously i would have to agree with anamolous on this one. the clutch slave cylinder might be messed up, synchros might be a real good possiblility also. GM voided my warranty at 12000 because of CAI, GMPP exhaust and the bwoody sway barlinks they really dicked me on that one

I would start by looking at the clutch. If thrid is grinding and no reverse that sounds like clutch. If it were a synchro I would think that 1st would give you trouble as well. Plus when you stated the clutch felt hard to press - definately a problem with the clutch.
