Tranny Problems......
Tranny Problems......
Alrite so the last couple of days my car has been really hard to get into second gear... like it was a tiny spot u had to hit just right... last night when i was leaving the gas station i went to shift into second and it was gone.... and as i went up the road a little farther... then 4th gear dissappeared??? well i stopped at wall mart to see what the hell was wrong and when i went to take off agian all of my gear were gone.. the shift was all play like the whole thing was in neutral?? the car is at the shop now.. anyone have any ideas what this might be?
I have had the same problem twice in the last couple months! This last time the dealership repaired it they said they put in a stronger linkage shifter shear pin and replaced some other plastic parts. I am not sure why this keeps happening, but I am hoping with the "stronger" pin it doesn't break again. If anybody knows why it is happening or if this is a problem with the Cobalts let me know
And if it is a roll pin I believe there is a how to on here about it.. unless your still under warranty. Then let them worry about it.
well it turns out it was the roll pin... gm completely warrantied it.. Now they never bled my clutch line.. because they didnt know it was the roll pin at first and completely pulled the tranny out... I bled the clutch the today and it went right back to having more air in it.. so back to the dealer it goes.. i figure they either didnt tighten the lines down good or the cracked the hydraulic line..
for some reason bleeding our clutches is retarded difficult!!! It never seems to be just right.... but then after you drive it for a couple days it feels perfect again. It made me so angry.. i thought all my hydraulics were going =( I guess you gotta let it work itself out (after its bled properly) even though there is no air in it.
yea they pulled my tranny. i guess they didnt tighten the mount bolts on the trans enough. the bottom one completely fell out and put stress on the upper part of the mount causing it to crack... damn ****'s!!! still hasnt been fixed.
