trans area click noise

When I release the clutch especially in reverse, I hear a weird clicking noise. Its getting worst and worst. It now even does it in 1rst gear. Sounds like axle joints letting go, is there sucj a thing. Any ideals??

do you hear it at idle in neutral w/ the clutch pedal out? is it like a "tick tick tick tick tick" kind of in line w/ RPM?

My Cobalt used to do that, just drive it till it explodes, or you trade it in.

hahaha well I acutally want to get it fixed under warranty. I just dont want to look like a complete idiot. I was wondering if anyone else had the same prob. Car drives fine, it sounds like axles. Is there like joints on those things, there must.

Bingo!
My 07 Cobalt SS/SC is doing the same thing, usually if it is under a strain, like a hill, or i'm backing up fast. It started doing it around 15k

I'm a little concerned.

Anyone else?

Scott

Nah, it's not a CV Joint click for me. That's a repetitive click when you cut the wheel, mines not like that. I may have to go with Dan as far as my click being more of an axle issue. I will have some loot coming towards the end of this month that I will try to put towards axles hopefully.

Happens to the lowered cars much quicker. Hell after my accident, 3 weeks later they started clicking and I had brand new axles put in.

I think that its axels or something. Now that u mention it, now that I have the car lowered it does it alot more. Wtv it is, its gettting worst that it does it almost all the time now. Whenever it breaks down I guess we will know what it was. And like someone said, when reversing quick or strain makes it worst.... Damn high powered FWD. Wonder if the ss/na or ls/lt guys are having the same prob?

I have been getting this too. As is RickyW. And all I can say is **** STEALERSHIPS.

I took it in yesterday, and the consultant went on a ride with me, and said he thought maybe transaxle, or axles.

Next day(today) he tells me its my strutbrace. WTF? No its not, because RickyW has same problem, and doesnt have a strut brace. So I went to talk to them, and they kept saying to take off the strutbrace, and then see what happens. I dont really wanna do that yet, so im waiting on Rick to tell me what his dealership says. His dealership seems cooler than mine, so maybe he will have better luck.

I'm off to do more searching for this problem, and if anyone has a link the another thread with this same problem, post it up here if you dont mind.
