transmition problems...fml
Sooo the cobalt ss I have is running however there is a grinding noise and when I do a uturn it doesn't want to accelerate when I press on the gas untill I straghten out the weels the rpms will go up but the car will just not accelerate ti I do so.it only does it when I am making the uturn. But the grinding noise is all the time. Doses this mean I have to replace the transmition or can I save it and just get it servised asap. If I were to replace the transmition how much am I looking at spending? I wanna know before I take it in and they tell me something when I could do it a less excpencive way trying to get me to spend as much as possible
Thank D

SC/TC/Or NA? Different trans. Mine makes a grinding sound on u-turns, but I'm pretty sure it's from tire rub
Almost sounds like clutch slip. When you try to accel, the RPMs go up, but you don't accel? Correct?
That's a really good question I have no clue how do I tell? And yea when I do a uturn it doesn't accelerate till I straghten out the weels. Its also not putting out as much power when accelerating say like from a red light it will shoot off but to go faster it will take a sec or two. I need all the info I can get seeing as of how every time I go into the repair shop since I a chick I get a lot more bs...I may not know much about this car but I'm not stupid either
Where are you from? The slip sounds like a clutch..The S/C's clutches are garbage...if you put a stage 2 on your car you will need a clutch b.c it is going to slip not if, it will slip...if you need a clutch get a upgraded slave and throw out baring.
I have a Exedy clutch and flywheel and haven't had a problem. I use to have a SPEC stage 3+ and I had a lot of problems out of it. As far as the grinding noise I will google and see what I can find about turning and making that noise.
not really....plenty of people over 300 on stock clutch let alone 230hp stage 2 lol, need to lhtd
Automatic means it is a 2.4L SS/NA. If it grinds all the time that is not a good thing. It also sounds like you are getting clutch slip, but on an automatic that is more complicated than on a manual. You are going to have to take the car to a transmission shop and have them give you an estimate, it probably isn't going to be cheap.
That is all
or if all else fails say TRANNY
let's try it
TRAN EEEEE
Like the one's at the gay bar :p
what is "flyong crap"

OK let me help you out again:
The spelling of transmission is the following. Say each letter aloud:
"T"-"R"-"A"-"N"-"S"-"M"-"I"-"S"-"S"-"I"-"O"-"N"
Ok lets try proper pronunciation again:
Trans = "Trans"
Mission = "Mish"-"Shun"
altogether now:
"Trans"-"Mish"-"Shun"
