Ive got an abnormal sound going on wheb the engine gets to operating temp. Any ideas?

Its easy to take the valve cover off id recommend doing that and seeingif anything looks out of whack buddy

 

That's the timing chain. The bolts holding the tensioner are common to break. I wouldn't drive it until it's fixed. I believe Mr B can hook you up with some stronger bolts and when you're in there replace everything.

 

Diesel mod? Dang that is noisy.

 

I took the valve cover off and everything is tight and looks fine. The tensioner was just replaced. Everything sounds fine on the chain side but that tapping sound is right behind the oil cap on the exhaust cam.

 

Update. Only does it when its warmed up. Its not coming from under the valve cover. Its coming from the part of the cam thats outside.
