hey everyone,
im new here but ill just post my problems so we can make these cars better by knowing the problems and workin out the bugs (hopefully last trip to dealer today, so far like 8 trips)
-passenger side door panel replaced... fabric around trim cup
-driver side door trim cup being replaced... trim cup paint coming off
-brake rotors being "shimmed" for steering shudder (lol hope that does it, i doubt it though-ill bitch for new rotors if its not solved)
-sunroof button fell off...now fixed
-rear passenger side window weatherstripping fixed
-steering column being replaced...jiggle sound over rougher roads n gravel
-rear abs wire harness replaced...threw on abs and traction control lights
-engine cel thrown second day i had car... but went away on its own
-resonator piping being replaced for raspy sound over 4k rpm (third time its been in for this)

i havent found anything else yet, but i still like my car, even though i went to trade up for an SS and found its worth about 8g's below what i paid for it (ls loaded about 19k) i hope ill break even next year or the year after to step it up and get an ss! hopefully my tight college budget will allow me

back from the dealer with problems again
-still hear the rattle from under the dash...steering shaft even though they said it was replaced
-still raspy noise from exhaust over 4K rpm...even though they replaced the cat and checked all heat shields
-still dont have trim cup for drivers side paint peeling off...next week

however
-did state inspection...ok
-replaced rear abs wire harness... no more abs and traction control lights
-resurfaced rotor and sanded pads... stops like glass---for now
-replaced drivers front window regulator... no more popping noise
-reprogrammed ipc for brake light going on and off occasionally

so hopefully next week will be the last battle for the warranty warrior

thats a lot of problems..........well im not that far behind...

i have rattling sunroof, dash, front suspension, and hissing noise during acceleration

trim cup on drivers side is still not here yet
steering column is still wiggling and jiggling all around
exhaust noise is still there ... now they think its the o2 sendor shields

what can i do? im all out of options... i want to get rid of this piece of **** before everything else goes wrong after my warranty is up

well i got some advice and it looks like its gonna be a lemon!
Kimmel and Silverman Lemon Law Lawyers- supposedly good track record with gm vehicles... hopefully i get a few grand or best case i get a new car that doesnt fall apart!
ill keep y'all up to date

and then.....
-new clicking noise/increased effort to open driver's side front door
-rear suspension screeches on passengers side over bumps
-parts will be in next week for last weeks problems

for the sunroof... try this

get some silicone spray and a rag. clean the dirt off of the metal under/around the sunroof glass seal and on the weatherstripping. spray the silicone onto the rag and liberally apply to the weatherstripping around the glass to the sunroof window. wipe out/off any dirt left over that you didn't catch the first time around. check to see the slides along the sides of the window are properly lubed and free of dirt/grime. open and close the roof a few times after all of this, and wipe any excess silicone off the window and sunroof opening. you should have no more worries

i make a habit of this every couple times i wash my car

ps- if that doesn't work, make sure the slide that closes over the window inside is free of dirt/grime and properly seated in its track

Man, that sucks...Cobalt tends to be a fairly decent car in terms of stuff like that, but every now and then everyone at the factory has a shitty day.

i know its a shitty deal, but all i want is for my car to be fixed or i get a new one that works...

i still like the cobalt, just not mine
