Weird noise in by right front tire.

For about a week or two now there has been a weird noise when I am driving from 0 to 30 over bumps. It is a hard nocking noise. It goes and comes so it isnt always there. Also from time to time it made a noise that sounded like the tire was rubbing on hard pack snow when it gets caught in the wheel wall. I have cleaned all the snow and ice around the wheel and still the noise is there. I brought it to a mechanic and we out it up on a hoist and could not find anything. Any idea on what this could be?

open your door and jump up and down on the door sill, and if you get it to make the knocking noise every time you jump it your front stabilizer links more then likely.

Link to my experience....

haha, im sorry man I would still get them checked out, apparently it's a known issue and the dealer replaces them with a bulkier part.

tbo I dont visit the dealer anymore ever since I supercharged it, I found a good deal on lnf sway links and sway bar, I may just treat this repair attempt as a hidden upgrade lol

Well i jumped and puches all over the car and no sound but, I did notice the cv joints are little loose enough where you can move them side to side a little went to my parents car a chrysler 300 and wiggled there cv joints and there where tight no play. Could this be it? Right now all the dealers are closed so going to waite till monday and bring it in and have them check that. By the way I brought it to two mechanic shops and after an half an hour at both of them and they couldnt figure it out. What great service.

lol they're human and mechanics... not psychics... some things are hard to find... i ahve a rubbing noise in my drivetrain... 5 trips to the dealership and they don't know what is causing it... it's just how it is sometimes... if it's not obvious what the problem is ya can't tear the car apart looking for a noise.. it's not realistic..

theres also the lower control arm bushings, i had a clunk noise for the longest time and put over 1k parts in to it to try to fix it. found out these bushings go bad alot, were also on backorder at the time. this might be it. there the rear ones that a bolt to your cradle gose through.

Is there any place on the net that shows detail instruction on how to replace the CV shaft and the lower control arm?
