What coolant are you using?
I think I may have finally licked my no-start issue, and I was thinking of doing a coolant flush and maybe a brake fluid flush before bringing it out of the garage.
I found a video (because it had been THAT long) to confirm where I believed the thermostat was - and in the video, the guy was saying how terrible Dex-cool was.
Now, I know there were some issues whenDdex-cool first came out, but I thought it was better;
I have been running a Prestone(?) fluid which was a Dex-cool substitute, but the funny orange-ish colour has always bugged me (I have a 'Killer Glass' upper rad hose).
I was hoping that someone might be able to chime in with a substantiated option for, or against dex-cool.
Thanks!!

I think a lot of the chunky coolant reputation Dexcool got was from people using leak sealers to seal leaks instead of replacing gaskets in older GM's. I bought my car with 40k on the odometer, now almost 220K and I have always either used the Dexcool or Prestone brand Dexcool style which is also orange and approved for Dexcool replacement. Been inside 2 engines completely apart due to non coolant issues, like ring lands on my LNF and melted exhaust valves due to a bad tank of gas in 2020 where I couldnt find source of missfires until it was too late. Now on 3rd motor, never anything but clean inside with no sludge or deposits. Factory heater core works great still, zero reason to fear the orange stuff.

Thanks very much for this reply.
You have in essence confirmed my thoughts and opinion.
I think I need to also do a coolant flush on the black car (see sig) - so this is good to know.
