What does this code mean?
What does this code mean?
I took the car in for an oil change, and i told the service manager i had a check engine light, and my DIC kept saying "check gas cap"
Well, he says they fixed it, and there's no more check engine light, but he told me the code it threw was "P-ID10T"
I've looked everywhere, searched this forum, and Googled it, but i can't find out what this code means.
Can you guys help me out?

Why do you say that? I seriously think i've looked at every code i could find, they're all numbers though, why does this one have letters?
If you're not gonna be helpful GTFO.

hahah. okay. just got the idiot thing. but you guys know there actually is a code thrown when the gas cap isn't sealed proporly. has to do with the evap system for the gas tank/filler neck
Nobody has ever told you that your were the cause of an ID10T error? That would be double awesome if it was a real code haha.
Those arent the letter o's in my name friend, they're zeros...

the service manager was ******* with you. He really was trying to call you an idiot. They must have been bored at the shop that day and they must have had a bet going on. Just some fun at your expense.
Exsoccor is right, there is a code for your evap system whenever your gas cap is loose. But just remember that no SAE or Manufacturer specific DTC will have an "I" in any part of the code. They will either be a "0" for SAE, or "1" for Manufacturer Specific in the second digit.

If you could post a link to someplace that can help me decode this, that would be awesome. Kinda like they have for VIN numbers?
I kinda want to know what it means though. this is bullshit.
