What is this noise?

View My Video

Was heading back to work yesterday and when I got off the interstate there was a bit of smoke coming out from under the hood. I pull over in the gas station and here this noise sounds like scraping maybe. I checked the oil it was a quart low. No clue why since its not leaking and Ive never lost oil. I replaced the quart and now it doesn't smoke but noise is still there not as noticeable at sometime. Any help would be great thanks.

There is an accepted oil-consumption rate of 1 quart/2000 miles. This consumption occurs when a piston moves down its cylinder and a thin film of oil is left on the cylinder wall. During the power stroke, part of this oil layer is consumed in the combustion process. As a result, varying rates of oil consumption are accepted as normal in all engines.

If I can be of any further assistance (unfortunately, I'm unable to help diagnose the sound you're hearing ), please let me know!

Really hard to hear the noise so if it is in the area where you zoomed in check the timing chain tensioner. Buy the new style if you have the old style.

thanks for the help so far. I thought about the tensioner but the one that is on is only 8 months old new style from GM new. I remember when the old one "old style advance auto brand" went bad after only 4-5 months it was more of a chatter noise.
