I think the stop points on the doors aren't quite right. The first one doesn't open far enough. Just a few more inches and it would be perfect. The second one is way out there. Door edge guards are a good idea.

The turning radius is terrible for such a small car. You shouldn't compare it to a truck so let's not. Compare it to other FWD cars in it's class and I think you will find it is one of the worst. Im sure someone can lookup the numbers I feel sorry for people that have to drive this care in cities where U-turns are part of everyday life.

thats what i like about the doors...they are heavy but easy to shut.....but all my friends just slam it hard coz its heavy and think that they need force to shut it........im always like "go easier on my doors"

as for turning radius......i have no complains about it .......but just wondering if its normal since sometimes it feels way lighter and sometimes heavier when turning it at rest

I took mine into the dealer to have the oil changed... they must have noticed the steering difficulties when stopped... b/c it's a heck of a lot easier now... I hope nothing's broken...

As far as the turning radius... yeah.... I think my Ranger turned sharper... Charlotte is the U-turn capital of the south.... I bet I make 3 or 4 every day... so I would appreciate something that turned sharper... especially for it's size...

I like the fact the doors open really wide. It makes it easier to get my mother in and out, as she is handicapped. When I'm not parking in the crippled zone, I carefully choose the most unlikely spot in the parking lot that anyone would want to park at, and there I park alone. Don't want any dings.

I think it turns better than my sisters '95 Eclipse Gs. I drove that for almost a year. The Cobalt is by far superior in every way. Well maybe not in shifters, her factory shifter is a much shorter throw than mine.

my turning radius is fine, it is only minutely bigger than my old escort but that is because the cobalt has a way tighter suspension and bigger wheels, also, the doors do open kinda wide but i like it cause it makes it easy to work on interior crap ie, speakers car alarm, and other fun stuff. Ill tell you though this car is way more solid feling than any cavi or focus or civic that i have ever been in.

I don't know what you guys are talking about with the turning radius I have an 05 LS coupe and the thing turns like you wouldn't believe, I can turn it complete 180 deg on a regular road with lots of road left before the ditch gets near. did they widen the radius with the 06 model or something. my previous car 92 MX-3 didn't have a close radius like this cobalt, and was half the car.

I think the ss has a bigger turn radius b/c of the larger wheels. Am I wrong?
