WOT Box Problem

I need some help with my WOT Box... I can't get my fkn computer to connect to it. I've downloaded both of the drivers from their website and I've tried their v3.0 and v3.2 software. Yet, the computer still won't connect.
The only "Port" that it shows available - whether the cable is connected or not - is COM3. No other ports show up in the drop box. Yes, I've turned the key to the on position. Also, when I go to SYSTEM -> Hardware -> Device Manager... no "Ports" option shows up. They show up on my desktop, but not on my Laptop.
Any help would be appreciated... I just wanna get this thing working.

I emailed them because I was having the same issue. Apparently, if you placed your order from them up to a few weeks ago, the cable they sent isn't compatible with windows 7. So, you need the updated cable from them.
If you're on anything other than W7, then I am not sure.
I just manually set up my 2-step and NLS timing using the box for now. It makes the SC cobalt SO much more fun to drive. Best investment ever, and it makes the stock slipmaster clutch work when you are making higher than stock power levels.

I'm not an idiot.
The box has power. The Blue LED comes on... all that Jazz. I'm 99.9% positive that it is a problem with my Laptop and not the WOT Box. I need someone that is an expert with Windows XP... to explain to me how to either create a port... or something like that.

I underestand you aren't calling me one... I'm just saying that is the one of the first things that I made sure of. The WOT Box works... It just doesn't work right, yet (I haven't reversed the Clutch Switch or set the Ignition properly yet... because I haven't been able to connect to it).
And yes... the Laptop has 4 USB ports, I've tried them all on the WOT Box, and they all work fine with my Mouse, External Hard Drive, and Thumb Drives.
I'm about to just go to Wal-Mart and buy a really long USB Extension Cable, pull the car up to my front door, and use my Desktop.

Alright... can someone hook up their laptop to their WOTbox... find the port name its running on (COM3, etc)... and then find out what the actual port number is? I'm hoping that it generally operates on the same port. I'm going to try and manually add the port.
I'll keep this in mind.
PROBLEM SOLVED...
...the problem was the shitty 6" USB Extension Cord that was provided with the **** Box. I replaced it and everything connected great. I'm actually heading out to try out my current settings right now.
