WTF... why when i get gas wont my car start till....

Last time I put gas in my car (93 octane), immediatly after filling i went to start my car and it wouldnt crank. Took 3 times to start my car and I got all scared, but thought it was a fluke and since everything ran fine since, no starting problems after. Then tonight, I fill up my tank, and once again, immediatly after filling takes 3 cranks for it to start.

Never happened in the past, so WTF?

the evap is either the gas cap or theres a evap purge valve under the car. back by the rear frame. might need to be replaced. but try the gas cap first. do you get a check engine light?

btw when you fill up your gas do you stop as soon as it clicks or do you try to shove that extra $2 in there. lol

i dont know if I got a CEL b/c it was already on since my catless DP. but im not gonna say there wasnt times i filled my car up to the top. like it clicked, so i pressed the pump down again and squeezed as much as I can in.

now assuming its not the gas cap as it was fine since, im thinking its under the car. where exactly is it? is it the thing above the rear axle with all the wires going to it?

Its one of these two but most likely the purge solenoid under the hood. Its a easy fix to do yourself.

Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid
On the top of the engine near the oil fill cap

Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Canister Vent Solenoid
Under the rear of the vehicle, behind the fuel tank attached to the EVAP canister

Fuel pump check valve? But if it's that then it's usually hard to start after the car sits for a day or two

Dude dont worry easy fix had the same problem just my car acted a bit diff..my car would start then i would turn it off and the motor would stay running key off for about 3 seconds then shake and stall. its the EVAP Purge valve celinoid or w.e its called. it sits right on top of ur valve cover its a little box its plastic has wires connected to it. You should also be throwing a check happen to me threw steady check for about a week ran sea foam through it, shell gas got rid of it but came back a few hours later. i also ran system too lean witch i still throw today need to replace MAP and O2 Sensors. but your prob is much simpler advanced auto parts like 30-40 bucks 5 minutes to replace. and it will stop doing that. illl find a pic of it

My SS/SC had this happen about a month ago. Everytime I went to fill with gas it would idle, and try to die unless I kept the revs up. It wouldn't act up again until I would fill up. It was the purge solenoid valve. It's part of the EVAP system, and will also give you the check gas cap message. Very simple fix. I replaced it myself.
