clay bar replacement

If you use a polisher, I found these things:

https://detailersdomain.com/NanoSkin...ide_p_706.html

This thing works better than clay, and I was able to do the entire car in about 15 minutes or so. Ran that, a 1500 grit & 4000 grit Menzema and used a heavy sealant (instead of a shiny one). Took about 2 hours total:

This works much better. I'm not sure what kind of rubber it's actually made out of, but it's sticky as hell after it dries... Exactly like clay is.

I'll never touch clay again

I was watching a video on this thing earlier. I would consider this more if it wasnt so expensive... But clay is a pita to work with... O well its a hands on experience. Thanks for sharing the link infliction.

maybe ill give this a whirl this year. i absolutely hate clay baring but you can get into tighter areas with a clay bar. a combination of both is still going to be needed imho.

The disk is as flexible as your backing plate, so if you use a 5 or 5.5" plate, you'll have about 1/2" of flex on the edge for getting into tight spots

I've read great reviews on this item. Another alternative, if you don't have a machine, is this item. So much easier than using clay and doesn't mar the paint.

Those options are great if you don't have a lot of time, or the cars not to bad, but I like the clay, its not hard to do, and can be done as a step in between washing and drying.

And you can feel the clay working, or if it needs to be kneaded.
