think about it.. no towel or water blade can get the water out of the cracks.. then you always end up with drips and built up crap in crevaces

once you try it.. you'll never go back.

Leaf blower for majority of water and all cracks

Absorber for finishing touch

I use a silicone water blade to get the majority of the water. Then I go around with a microfiber cloth and finish drying everything. Oh and BTW I have a black car and it doesnt scratch it at all.

later

Careful with the California Water Blade. One stray piece of dirt gets embedding into that thing, and with every swipe, your gouging your paints finish. If you can keep it clean, it'll work. Although, I'd recommend a Waffle Weave Microfiber Towel above all else.

And yes, I also use a leaf blower. Gets the heavy stuff off the paint, out of the cracks and crevices, and means you don't have to continually wring out the drying towel.

I use an electric leaf blower or my air compressor. Hit the rest with a waffle weave microfiber drying towel and then bring out the shine with Meguire's Ultimate Detailer.

Love the leaf blower

Sure, and an asteroid could fall from the sky and destroy your car. Odds are what I'm talking about.

At least with a drying towel, specifically a waffle weave, many stray contaminants will get pulled up and into the nap of the towel giving you added insurance. A water blade however is a piece of rubber. Any stray dirt will stay directly on the surface, therefore, going surface to surface with the paint.

Not to mention the action of using the Water Blade. You are "dragging it" across the finish to wick water off. At least with a Waffle Weave, you have the option of the blot dry method, whereas you place the towel on the paint and dab up the water droplets. You aren't dragging, therefore greatly reducing the chances of any drying induced marring.

I think with the leaf blower and a waffle weave, you are affording yourself the quickest, and least damaging method of drying your paint.

Everybody has their methods, and I'm not saying yours is wrong, just that caution should be given when using any type of drying method that involves dragging something over your paint. That having been said, you could screw up your paint just as bad with a dirty Waffle Weave being dragged across the surface.

My argument is that the Waffle Weave gives you different options as to how you wish to use it, as with a Water Blade, you can only drag it across the surface to make it work.

To each their own. Happy detailing
