meguires ultimate compound is what I used on my truck with a buffer, then I used the black box, but it wont work on your red. I always have good luck with the 2.0 Ive been using it since 03.

Before

After

The black pad is soft it's more for finishing so for swirls if you use a wole pad you better know what your doing because a wole pad alone will make it worse

with my porter cable I used this first...

3M 39003

Then 3M 39009

Then then wax.. But the type of wax really doesnt matter as long as the prep work is done right.

This is what we use at my restoration shop. It's so easy a cave man can do it. Seriously though it is easy to use even on black the hardest color to make look perfect. And the whol kit is about 80 bucks

I don't really care enough about my car to get a buffer and all that other ****... I just hand wax it and it usually looks good.

My paint really isn't in bad shape though so hand waxing/polishing works fine.

The 3m swirl mark remover is awesome stuff, its a little hard to find around here. but Ive used it on a black show car and made it look great, that and the dark paint wax they make. Its been a few years since I have used them. I have a buddy here thats been detailing for 25 yrs and he uses only meguires.

Some people are stuck on a particular brand... im not that picky. There are lots of brands that will achieve the same result

same here, I tend to stay with meguires and 3m though. I have the best results with them, although I have never liked turtle wax, and I read reviews on the black box and Its amazing on a black vehicle.
