think i made a bad choice with my tires
think i made a bad choice with my tires
I was out cruising the past weekend and almost everycar that is saw drop there clutch from a dig would peal out for maybe 1sec and than take off like a bat out of hell. Now if i do this (rev to about 1.5-2k) and even ease it out and give it gas i will just sit there and spin but no noise comes from my tires like im pealing out. They just spin. Is it because my tires suck? it is also 41 degrees out lol.
These are my tires with tons of tread left

same thing happened to me..............hint: it's not your tires. I finally used my head and said to msyelf "no noise, no tire tracks, and no smoke............it's not the tires".
Your clutch is slipping, garaunteed.

I bet when you do a second gear drop you can hear it stuttering.
When i 1-2 shift without taking my foot completely off the clutch it will slip like mad even my 2-3 shifts and it never used to do this when i was stock or even gm stage 2. So guess thats my next mod for the money pit
Those tires have a tread wear rating of 400. That means the rubber is REALLY hard and not very grippy. The stock tires are rated a 200, so yeah, you chose bad tires for a performance car.
Ummm, don't do a burnout and close your windows? lol

don't know. I had the Stage 1 clutch in, didn't work at all.
The reason I know that it's your clutch is cuz mine is in the shop right now. I broke an axle. I thought it was my tranny so I also had them take it out and look at the clutch and transmission. They told me the clutch is not holding and something with the flywheel. So I'm getting a Centerline DFX Clutch and Flywheel -- rated at 450hp/450lb-ft tq. I should be getting it back either today or tomorrow.

If you don't hear your tires, they are not spinning. Your clutch must be slipping if the rpms are increasing and you are not moving or spinning the tires. Those are not summer performance tires, they look like all-seasons. The tires are the least of your problems though...
[QUOTE=widowedeight;3730494]NOT TRUE the tires i just got have a tread rating of 400 (ultra high performance all season radials.......) and they have AMAZING TRACTION and i'm not stock
Another thing those are all season tires not summer only the guys pulling harder than you are likely on summer only tires (true high perfomance tires).
