I've heard if you pee on that it actually fixes itself.

At least the bottom end
Where is this coming from? There are people running more than 625 whp on stock LSJs?

This bottom end is completely stock. Stock block(no girdle), stock crank, stock rods, stock pistons. It has ZZP S2 cams and ZZP valvesprings. The turbo setup is our normal LNF upgrade kit with a S259 extended tip turbo. The fuel system mods include our modified fuel pump cam lobes and our extra injector kit, as well as an in-tank pump upgrade. It is running on E85 from the local Mobil station.

The craziest thing about this is that the engine didn't stall. It just changed pitch quite a bit and sounded rough. I brought it to a stop and then turned it off with the key. Of course there was a decent amount of smoke, but it was still running!

I'm going to try an interesting budget setup next. Then I will be installing a ZZP motor with our girdle, rods, and pistons.

No they dont. When ZZP did the testing with Ryan's car they had the ZZP rods in it.

If you get the cams you can get the bigger fuel pump lobe, and the block girdle can be had if you get the new short blocks from ZZP. They are on the site.
