I'm not going to get into the reasons. This site has had issues for a while now and really needs to be fixed. It could be a great site............

The only mods I ever see are Braineater and you Lee. I only see redcavyy on to ban people when someone says something bad about a vendor.

JonyyB is never on here really...

Frankly the site says there are 20k+ members, only of which maybe a 1/4 of them have been active in the last year...

delete that, move this site to a more dedicated server... one that can actually keep up with the demand a site of this size needs.

This site was great at one time... didn't take 30 minutes to load... you go to check your posted threads it takes 20 minutes so you hit the button again... and OH WAIT you must wait 30 seconds between searches... It's getting old, it's getting rediculous.

There have been soo many off shutes of this site since it's soo slow now, you would think JonyyB would get the hint!

Well he is the man that makes the difference around here. Mods can only do so much. As long as we keep this thread civil I will keep it open.

I just want to be able to come onto this website whenever I want to and just look at threads & talk. Sometimes I can't because of the DB errors, and sometimes it takes forever to load up. I really LOVE this this website, but the loading times could definitely be improved.

i agree with all members here, i know this doesn't help!!!!!https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/general-cobalt-68/car-sponsorships-209733/
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=209736
honestly i seen this as i found this thread. they were on the same page lol in new posts lol. honestly looking on the site for a sponser is not the way to go usually. in my exp. you need to know someone to get something. then to have it twice on the same site is not good either. now i understand that it may have crashed and he probally thought he had to start over but when it crashes on me i will check before i do. lol just my 2 cents worth.

As my boy says,

"It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts" - Sherlock Holmes

You don't know why he posted twice, could have been a crash maybe not, but they are in different sections.

There are more underlying issues than people making two threads.

I will take care of Mr. Two Threads though

Being old school you should know the old school ways don't work anymore and need to change with the times.

No more i286's no more soldering RAM to the board.

Of course I know they don't work anymore, I'm just done fighting the ******* system ... ride the boat it's a fools paradise...

And no we didn't 'solder' the ram to the board back in the 286 days, we used these big retarded fuji plotter machines, that would nail the sockets down with a red glue, and then slide the boards via conveyor over a huge ass wave soldering waterfall (3ft wide 3 feet long) of solder. Then it would go out to the assembly line where some guy would plop one stick in the board and another in his back pocket.

I left hardware in 99.

You were mass producing, I'm talking mom & pop shop.

My money says it's not the server, but the DB needing a cleaning.

I am a mod on another car forum and am on other forums as a member, they are never down as much as this site is. The load times are also usually HORRIBLE. Great site with great info on it, just really slow and down a lot.

There are WAY larger forums that don't have these problems...case and point NASIOC and NICO.
Both are enormous with way more members and way more threads. Not a computer person so I have no idea what makes those sites better but it tells me that this site could be better.

This is an interesting read.

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/archi.../t-173636.html

Basically can't determine if exact, since no access to the logs, but seems he fixed his DB crashing with dumping it into a new DB.
