So bear with me on this, I am proposing that on the original PM the mods send you when you register there is some more basic info. For instance we all know the basic questions all new members ask(most)
Stage kit info
More HP
Exhaust options
Lowering springs.
Tune offerings.
Since we already have some good threads on this info, could we make it so on that welcome PM the links to these threads are already included? I think this could lower the number of new repeat threads created.
Would like to hear from people on this, including mods!

Not everyone has the same type of cobalt so are we gonna spam they pm with all the different ways to upgrade all the different motors? The best thing the mod could do is advise anyone that signs up on here to use google to search this forum for into because the built in search is awful.
The problem with that is there is no definitive answer to most things. Some people will agree/disagree on certain topics and some refuse to accept what is likely true. A general PM to a new member will still result in some sort of bias in information.
The longer your here the more you will see that most new threads are basically the same old topics rehashed over and over again lol. Topics stay the same ....Its just the members that change.
I agree with vander
Site:https://www.cobaltss.net then what ever the **** you want is wayyyy better than the internal search. Without the http bullshit

Instead of that, why doesn't the mods or someone just build comprehensive stickies. The information is all here, we could just assemble it all together, and put it into nice stickies. Like a Stage Kit Sticky. Or Exhaust Sticky. ect... Then if people have questions, they can post in the appropriate forum and using the stage kit sticky could ask a question. Everybody was new once.

yeah the stickies would help immensely but they need to be pointed to them when they first arrive.
For instance:
Welcome to CSS.net blalblabllbalab
If you drive a 2.0 SS from 05-07 look at this thread before posting "LSJ Sticky"
If you drive a 2.0 SS from 08-11 look at this thread before posting "LNF Sticky"
If you drive a 2.4 SS look at this thread
If you drive a base model look at this thread....
Dont you guys think that would work ?
and just put common questions in that thread or in the thread put links threads that answer popular questions. I feel like it would clean things up.

Stickies are there, no one reads them. you could categorize, generalize, organize, simpilize, still people wont realize.
The search engine on this site does suck. 100%. Usually I google search what I want and then it finds the specifics in this site usually of what im looking for. People dont want to take the time to read, or look something up. Theyd rather just ask their specific question and hope it gets answered right away.

I haven't had a lot of luck with the site's internal search function. Normally I just use google to search this site haha. I think though 9 times out of 10 new members won't pay hardly any attention to an automatic PM that they receive. In all honestly, I probably wouldn't either. It's a good idea though.
