How-To: Subscribe to a Thread

This How-To will explain how to Subscribe to a thread so it will show up in your User CP without having to post in the thread.

The reason you should do this instead of just posting "subscribed" or "subed" is so there is reduced clutter in threads where people try to find useful information.

Step 1:

Open the thread that you want to subscribe to. At the top of the first post on each page there is a toolbar that includes the items "Thread Tools", "Search this Thread", "Rate Thread", and "Display Modes"

Simply click "Thread Tools", then "Subscribe to this Thread" under that.

Step 2:

Next, on the Add Subscription screen, you can choose rather or not to receive email notifications when the thread is updated, and you must also choose which folder to put your subscription in. By default, you will only have "Subscriptions", but I would suggest using the "Edit Folders" button to add one such as "Information" like I did, so its easier to find the important threads with very useful information in it.

Step 3:

Your subscription has been added and will now show up in your User CP when there is new posts in it.

I hope this helps keep the clutter down when people just want to tag a thread to see the outcome of something, or are waiting on pricing of an item or something like that.
