Hence the Vendor Protection rule.
Can't really blame Jonel on that one, the guy's GOT to make money off of this someway. I don't think he's rollin in dough by selling $2 Cobaltss.net decals. (BTW, I LOOOOVVVE that)

And the mods are just doing their job and enforcing the site rules, I'm sure some of them feel the same way as you guys and would rejoice in the ability to thrash a crappy vendor once and awhile. But that's why they're mods...because they can set aside that desire and do what they need to.

THe original Idea of a vendor rating system has been suggested before, not sure what happened to that
so basically vendors can pay the vendor fee... and then rip off every customer? because they dont have a medium to complain about it to? **** sign me up for the vendor list.. i sell headlight fluid

So as I went to buy fish food a minute ago - I was thinking about how to do this - the 80% solution that works and isn't a pain in anyone's ass.

The answer - simple..

Just set up a thread under each Vendor in the supporting vendor section with a poll, "How was your transaction with the vendor?" - 5 answers from "Great, Good, Average, Bad, Terrible".

Two rules - (1) If you vote, you have to substantiate it with a post.. and (2) If you post below "Average" you have to clear it thorugh a mod.

Maybe get one extra mod to check through it once a day, shouldn't be that many posts in there in the first place.

Could even earn some extra $ for the site by letting vendors sponsor the system...

^^ thats a decent point and system.
i think this could work and would weed out the people who jump on the bashing bandwagon for no reason.

what we have over at our forums... is a Buyer Feedback forum...

for any feedback... be it a vendor... or private seller... and yes there are negative posts about sponsored site vendors.. and no they do not get deleted as soon as they go up... it gives a public arena to demonstrate customer service after a botched transaction...
