Just oil on the engine caused that?

I'm a little skeptical of that, unless they dumped half a quart over the thing. What kind of guy was the previous owner?

Thank you! I don't understand why everyone calls this "rice". I've seen so many posts where someone has a fire extinguisher in their car and people laugh. IMO, if you've done ANYTHING to the car when it comes to engine or electronics, it's a good idea to have both a fire extinguisher and also in today's world of EVERYTHING being controlled electronically, have one of those devices that looks like a hammer with an emergency light, a pointed end for shattering a window, and a blade for cutting the seat belt just in case.

Damn. In for the confirmed cause of the fire. Another reason I'm shopping around for a 2.5 lb extinguisher for my car.
