Ohh I know that. I like imports too STi is in my " If I had money" list. but It feels good when you take on imports with a domestic and by that I mean GM.
No offense to import owners by the clip tho...

WRX is all from a Dig same with an STI.
STI's arnt that quick from a roll, its all in their launch that gives them a good 1/4 mile.
I would love to see how long it takes a STI to go from 60-100 vs a cobalt ss.
Ive raced STI's that have busted my ass (non stock of course) but every stocker Ive ran across Ive pretty much hung with.

For $38,000 you could have a stage II sti. That's 335wheel. My friend who has parents that work at SIA (Subaru Isuzu) here in town has a stage IV sti. He has 384 wheel horsepower. It cost him $45,000. I have 222wheel in my 05 cavalier I raced him from a dead stop and had him through 1st and half way through second, then he sped past me so fast I almost cried. Sti's are scary. As far as street legal, 4 cylinders go, there's nothing that can even come close in my opinion. I don't like Japanese cars, but 384wheel? That's not to mention stage V or race stage I or race stage II, that puts out 700wheel horsepower. I have beaten wrx's in my Cavalier, but an sti is so completely different than an integra or 2.5rs or wrx that it shouldn't even be called a wrx. And as far as starting a race from a roll...That doesn't prove anything as far as I'm concerned, because one car could be just ready to shift gears while the other could have just shifted and that is nowhere near fair or even.
38 Grand!! **** that!!

We were on a street outside my house and he was in my house for 2 hours before we did it so I think he knew we were racing. We raced three times and everytime was the same.....Had him through first and half of second then he flew by like i was parked. I'm auto he's manual, the length of my lead is maybe 45-50 ft before he flys by. I usually am at about 4700 in second when he sucks my door handles off. :-(

The sti would rape you off the line not talking trash or anything but their is no way you would hang with him off the line. sti's off the line are crazy but off the punch they are not all that. an ss/sc should run with a stock sti off the punch.

are wrx's alot slower than sti's of the line? i raced a wrx off the 40 punch and pulled on him hard but never raced them off the line but my friend has an sti with turbo back, intake, pully, some kind of chip and he gets me by like 5 cars off the like he also dumps his clutch at like 6 grand but i suck at hooking up so maybe thats my prob or maybe his mods really help him out off the line. so can we beat stock wrx's off the punch or did i just get lucky?

I think it is a fair match.

so when we race mustangs we can only talk about the cobra ...becasue its top of the line or do we have to go with the Cobra R
thats one of the worst ways to think about compairing cars

It's pointless to compare cars price wise, because my $19000 Cavalier (05 Modified) beat a $28000 Mustang (05 stock gt) on an 1/8 mile track. I also lost to a $6500 Trans Am (84 Modified) the same night, on the same track. Chevy needs to make a blown 2.4 Cobalt to compete with the STI's blown 2.5.
