Lone Star Bash feedback thread
Me and the Oklahoma guys had a blast, started driving at 2:45am on saturday morning to make it the 550 miles one way. It was a lot easier last year when it was held in Ennis, but the wind really sucked. I didn't like the fact that the show was held in a grassy lot, but that's just me. I also didn't like how the track was set up, I came there to race and didn't bother showing...and we only had 3 hours to do so, I couldn't get many runs in because I let my car cool down after each run.
@Ash:
I think the reason we didn't do shirts is because we barely broke even on them last year. We're obviously not a profit org or anything but if we're losing money to sell shirts it's gonna get cut. (I really wanted a shirt too tbh)
If you'd like to help us out with the next one, head on over to our forums (http://www.centexcarclub.com/forums/) and talk to Scott. We'd love the help. :-)
I'm not 100% sure what happened back then as I moved to Austin the month after it happened, but is it possible that he requested to be put in Wild instead of Mild? You can always go to the higher class - that's what Josh did this year with his Redline and he ended up with Best in Show.
But I get what you're saying, and I like the representative idea. I'll definitely run that by him. :-)

nobody was talking about the judging. In fact, i said the judging WAS VERY CONSISTENT. I was talking about the classing of the actual cars. But that's been handled.
i think most people dont mingle at all.. i said it like 3 or 4 times to my club.
most people just hang with their crews. i walk around and see wuts up with everyone. but i typically know or have a friend or two in every club so it makes it a bit easier.

I'm just using them as an example since I wasn't at last year's LSB (which is why I'm referring to this year's and Temple's LSB). I can honestly say I didn't know we had this option, and maybe it's because I didn't read the threads well enough, or because I'm a car show novice (or just a LSB novice). And I don't think steven knew either. Was there a post in any of your threads that states this rule. But I'll quickly point everyone to it so they can stop thinking that it was an unfair classing method. Otherwise, it sounds like this might just be a case of bad mis-communication.
I agree with you about steven and reckless. There is a grudge there, and that's not what I'm trying to resolve. I am trying to clear things up for my guys because a lot of them treat this show with legitimate respect, and they spend all year to get ready for it. And to see them either get classed next to (for example) ben's sunfire, when all they have is a cavi that looks more like Mark's old cavi, tends to scare them off. It's intimidating finding nice rides like that competing with their ride, and they start coming up with their own explanations for it without getting all the facts.
I felt that way when you guys classed me at the same level as CJ's ride back in Temple. Reckless felt like that when he lost to me that year (I'm sure you remember that). I just have to help my guys understand how it works, and it's hard to do that when I don't understand myself.

It wasn't in the main LSB post, and you can't expect people to sift through 50+ pages of posts to find all the stipulations. We know about it because we've talked about it, but for the random guy who showed up, he would have no idea unless we told him.
Next year we'll be sure to include that in the official post, maybe put it on the scoresheet as well so people who came due to word of mouth (or otherwise don't read the forums) know about it.
Yea, I chatted with you, Joseph and a few others but by and large didn't talk to anyone outside of those I already knew. Then again I might have been a bit more social if I wasn't dead tired and fried to a crisp at the end of it, haha.

I agree also and im still trying to figure out why, all i know is that after LSB09 awards someone was really pissed that they lost to me and started talking **** about my car and me. then there were some nasty emails sent and thats how everything started, i never had any problem with steven and never wanted one i just got attacked, so if some can explain why id love to hear it
i like how in person you don't say **** to me, look at me and don't say nothing, than leave and throw your middle finger up at us? but than when you jump on the forums you open your mouth and talk ****? you keep talking about my car and me? ok go ahead. you can talk to anyone who is my friend i don't hold grudges towards anyone unless someone starts it.
really? wow... care to elaborate on that?
steven's car was nice, yes... however, there were plenty of things to go around to bring the points down. a few items i can remember off the top of my head, the back seat didnt even match the fronts and the mirrors looked spray painted they had so much orange peel. also... iirc the interior wasn't the best with some chipping paint in places. but it could have been another one. i judged a lot of cobalts that day. for me to even remember a few things is hard. i LOVED his powdercoating done under the hood, LOVED his flawlessly clean wheels (inside and out) and LOVED the fact he went with koni yellows for the rear. also was a big fan of the nice show sign. but to me the reckless car seemed to have more of a less is more theme going on and that i am a big fan of. also, he did have a nice presentation as far as 'display goes'. i liked the fact the name of the car coincided with a song that hit his wife and him just right. he had the song playing in the back ground and also has some video going on. iirc steven's car had absolutely zero video. what was i supposed to mark for points with ZERO video equipment?
i feel as though i was fair and consistent. i didnt tally up the final scores so i dont recall how close the points were between the two cars but i can assure you that it was close.
do you even know any of the judges, including me? i take it you didnt see the head judge's BEAUTIFUL camaro sitting everywhere?
i guess 4 foot tall trophies arent enough, scott. better go with the ten footers for next year. everyone who doesnt have a sunroof to jamb it through for the ride home, tough ****.
pfft.

o really? so you telling me other ppls email mad you so pissed off that got you to bash on me? i know for sure i didn't start **** with you. than you started talking **** on last year bash thread of how a na cobalt beat a sc cobalt than also saying to not bring that weak **** to the bash. than now saying first na cobalt to beat a sc cobalt two years in a row? idk you tell me who is egging all of this on?

Guys, this is way off topic, could you please keep it to the other thread?

If you guys could remove the OT posts from here so I don't have to dig through it to find the feedback info, that would mean a lot to me. Thanks.

Dallas Raceway has the latest and greatest track available and a great manager and staff and an overall great facility. Im not just saying this because im from dfw but because the atmosphere is greater to put down some great runs
(FYI this was my 1st time going to the bash)
What did you like?
I liked how close the venue was to me, also it was nice to meet all these delta peps
What didn't you like?
The grass lot where we showed our cars, makes keeping the car clean difficult, pavement would of been nicer.
What would make you bring more people / cars from your crew next year?
Vendor Booths would of been cool/more freebies even stickers will do lol/maybe even some drawings for prizes and such...And cash prizes for winning.
I wasn't Mild man, I was Street....And if there is any question of mods, There are alot of little details that I have done to my car, not to mention innovations and unique electronic stuff, the car is night and day different then when i 1st bought it.
As for Steven vs the other car - what happened? From what I remember Steve's car definitely wasn't street, and it didn't have enough to be in wild either (it only has a blower, no paint, right?). From the few pics I've seen I'd actually class the G5 as Street, so it's possible that he requested Mild instead.
Yes I did request mild out of error, this was my 1st show and to me I thought the class's went from least to greatest in this order Mild, street, wild. But it turned out to be Street Mild Wild, my mistake.

i say we get rid of the car show all together...all ppl do is bitch after... i say next year we can all park together like a REAL meet and there is only one award "best in show" and everyone gets to vote..id be fine if there arent any awards as long as every one gets to show off their car

the bracket racing was a great idea but one thing. wouldn't it be better to have all the sc cobalt race eachother than the tc go at eachother. that is polly why alot of the sc cars didn't run cuz they knew the tc cars would beat them in the end. correct me if i'm wrong. i didn't wanna do bracket racing cuz i knew the white tc would have beaten me or the hhr.
Eri thought the same thing about her HHR. I mean I know you dynoed way more then she did at the dyno day we had in SA. so you whould have been pretty close if not faster. I know the HHR weighs 400lbs more then a cobalt.
I had all my guys that were capable of running in the brackets. and even some did when they clearly weren't capable (zduece) lol. you never know.
when Eri raced the last 2 cars she told me before she ran. that Both those cars are way faster then her. I told her all you can do is give it your best.
or you can set up a true bracket race....street rules...run 2 time trials set your dial and run your number
thats if you want a true drivers race....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bracket_racing
