Like when your car was stock you know how it felt sluggish down low in 1st.
That TM doing that. And when your shifting TM is pulling Timing and boost for your transmissions safety. Personally I would rather use my right foot as TM. TM makes it alot harder to bark 2nd or 3rd. (TM = Torque management)

Well, my car, Rice's, Tibbets, and the '06's have a torque based system of limiting power. The PCM determines how much power the motor should be making based on key parameters and then checks against a table to see if the car is allowed to make that much power. If it's not, it pulls timing, closes the throttle plate, or other things to limit power.
In the '04s and apparently most of the '05s, there is a boost (MAP sensor) controlled style of tq management. Instead of determining how much power the car is making through an equation, it looks at how much boost it's making, and then flutters the Eaton's bypass valve to stay at or below that power range. It also can pull timing or close the throttle plates though.
The nice part about the tq based setup, is that it can adjust itself for different weather and altitude, etc... or that's the theory anyway.

I'm with you. My right foot would be much better at limiting power when needed. I need to get rid of this asap. It's completely horrible on the stage 2 tune.
Dustin I haz a surprise for you...
