Nah I enjoy having my wife around, unlike others significant others she likes cars too. So it isn't like trying to drag a dead horse around everywhere I go. Plus we will be staying with friends so it won't be bad at all. And she makes more money than me so I'll just make her pay for everything :p.

 

well, I found out today the outage time has been doubled... up from 30 to 60 days in typical TVA fashion... money will be nice but I was really hoping it'd only last 30 days.... though that cam may be happening now as well

 

60 days? pff, got told today it might be 60-120.... shooting for a procharger now!

but seriously once I get the bolt-ons I have planned on it, its my next investment... D1SC, boost 5psi make TVS blowers on 12psi cry

the last day of the outage is May 12th...... we need to have some type of meet soon after....

at the end of May they are having a big drift event(a points meet in fact) in Huntsville.... we all should definitely hit it up. i'll have all my go fast **** on my car by then

Longtubes and catback going on Tuesday... since I don't have time to do it myself, I got a guy I know with a local speedshop(been open about 2 years but Shannon has always had fast cars of his own and has built some beasts in the last 2 years) to do it... decent price as well... from header to tip he'll do the whole exhaust for $200... I think its fair and was less than I expected

oh, i'm not done with the bolt-ons... still have the stock air box and stock throttle body... I mean neither of which are big gainers, but every little bit helps... I haven't decided if after I finish off the bolt-ons and get tires if i'm going to save up and boost it... or go ahead and cam it... because once I boost it, its going to need new axles and the 6L80e is probably going to take a dump.... so i'm thinking about going ahead and camming it, upgrading the axles, upgrading the differential, and then saving for the blower... not worried about the transmission, i'll drop that $1500 to get it rebuilt when it finally goes after i'm making real power

that is still about $4k worth of work... but it'll make the car better prepared for boost, the upgraded differential is rated at 850ft-lbs and the axles at 1400hp... so neither would be going anywhere any time soon...


also anyone going to the drift event in Huntsville next Saturday? i'll definitely be there

 

I say cam it now and boost it later if you decide you want to dump more money into it. Like you said you could go NA and still slowly build the car up for boost.

You never know you might be satisfied with a cammed, n/a motor with full bolt ons.

IMO a 12 sec car is a good balance between daily driving and drag strip.
