I would, but I won't be back in time! I'm still stuck overseas in the sandbox right now.

I take it the The Rock is going to have the full quarter open then?

Is that a question? The only time Rockingham has it set to the 1/8th is if somone that has their car geared for it asks them so they can dial it in...but other than that its 1/4 mile all the time...and its not a big deal bc they set it from the tower....so literally the person in front of you can run an 1/8th then they re set the tree and set it for the 1/4.....

Every time I've gone up there with my buddy for the bracket racing that runs late into the night, it's always been the 1/8th being run. He ran a 5.61 @ 122 in this! This pic was taken at Orangeburg, but I think it gets the point across.

not arguing with ya...ur buddies car seems nice...my old parts manager drives the fire rat....68' firebird tubbed out.....478 ci bb, alcohol inj....runs 8.9's (in the 1/4).....but I used to live 10 minutes from rockingham and spent pretty much every test and tune weekend there last year......and the only times they switched to 1/8th was when someone wanted to dial in at 1/8th...and when they were hosting some 1/8th event the next day and contestants needed to dial in.....next time i run the strip will be in Sept. when my college (Sandhills Comm. College) has their annual night at the rock....bc there's a few 5.0L fox bodies (actually modified 5.0L now 307ci. and 347ci. strokers) that I want to show up.....but I'm just saving money for now...and getting this new clutch and then tvs w/ meth time......

There is also some pics of the car on Rockingham Dragway's website under the Raceworks.com Spring Blast Feb 22-24, 2007 gallery about a quarter of the way down.

Yeah, this car is not setup for the quarter at all. The tranny gears would have to be swapped out etc, but they do have big events up there all the time for the 1/8th mile cars. I guess I've just never been up there for the quarter! I'm going to have to bring my Integra up there then when it's all back together with the slicks to get some quarter mile times!

That must be a badass car your friend has. This Camaro rocks a 592ci BB on racegas. It used to run alcohol, but it was easier to dial in on race gas I guess. She is one bad ****, but now looks like this after the some paint and chassis work.

(1 needs the main bearing pressed in, special tools required was used less than 15k) and the other needs a new main bearing after replacement it too will need to be pressed in, was used for 20 miles before bearing cracked. Not a typo tranny #2 only went 20 miles before bearing cracked as a result of improper fluid fill. Both transmissions are in the original GM crates and will be shipped that way.
