Built and cammed huh? Gonna go for a ported polished head to go with those cams or no? And which cams are you looking at? I may can help with this.

Its a good thing I'm not torn though. I know EXACTLY what I'm getting.

Avoid J-Body performance. Period. Do not purchase ANYTHING from them.

Aaron made a good suggestion... However, we all know how long zzp takes to release a product. And how much longer it takes for them to decide to ship it out.

I "heard" comp cams makes a pretty decent blower grind cam for the LSJ.

Your only other option is to get a set of stock LSJ cams, find the specs you want, and have a machine shop grind them for you.

BTW, OTTP is coming out with cams as well.

How do I know all of this? Who knows...

yeah i've read bad things of JBP..

ugh.. i would love ZZP cams, cuz you know they would be the **** lol... they have yet to let me down

so this is what i'm thinkin...

TVS plan:
Well.... just the TVS and meth

or

Build plan:
Ported head
Pistons
Cams
Springs
Studs
Meth
... anything else??

Obviously TVS will be much cheaper.. but it'd be much more fun to build it.

Idears??

Which compression ratio pistons would you go back with? I say don't worry with pistons unless you are gonna run lots and lots of n2o. Those things aren't cheap.

Neither is a ported and polished head. 850 at best. 1500 at the worst.

Hell. Valve springs and retainers alone are 350! Then whenever you get it all, you have to have everything rebuilt!! That alone is enough to scare me away. Ever rebuilt an engine mr Roland? Ever even took the valve cover off your engine?

With cams you will have to worry about maintaining the correct timing. Mess up timing and you will be buying new valves after bending the ones you had in it. LOTS of things can and will go wrong if you aren't sure of what you're doing.

We can talk about it all day long. However its really just a matter of doing it. I would opt to help with it (you know me), but we have been working 5 and 6 days at work. I haven't washed my car in a month if that tells you anything ha ha

Anybody else got any near future plans??

You know I do. But as I have said, its only minor stuff. And my tuner is probably OVER 1000 miles away. I would go to your tuner if I would not have already paid for my tune

That Zach06Cobaltwhatever dude is tuning my car. He's the traveling tuner, but he agreed to tune me over the internet by me sending him data logs.

I just dropped $718 in performance parts. $306 of that is for the gm upgraded clutch and gm build book for our cars. What's the other $400 for? Hmmm...

The exciting part is...

...I'm not done yet.

I've already paid for half my tune ($150), plus the mullah I already have in my current set-up. I'm expecting my new pulley any day now.....

You can only guess, my friend.

Yes, it will be a street tune. Perhaps I can afford some dyno time and he can tweak my tune just a little after that. Who knows?

Its not that its a big deal. Its that I haven't ordered everything yet and I don't want to tell everyone what I'm getting and end up not getting it ya know? I hate doing that, so I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut for another month or so.

Just stay tuned

I have heard that it takes quite a bit of time and patience to fit that header on the lsj. But I hear its one of the best headers on the market
