Hardparkers unite! Please read and respond, not region specific!

Disclaimer: If you have nothing constructive to say click the back button, not the post button. This is a serious thread for a serious cause.

To help out a cause for the greater Fayetteville scene I am starting a petition on Css and a few other websites to help a friend who is going to city council to get a perminant spot we can hardpark and socialize without fear of police infringing our constitiutional right of freedom of assembly. All I ask is for you to post in this thread you are in favor of or not. Also all advice to prepare us more is welcomed too.

The city police has been pushing us around for no reason for almost a decade(from my experience, I am sure it has been longer though) and it needs to stop. We are tax payers and we pay their salary for them to protect and serve, not harass and instigate. Almost every weekend for the past 9 years I have been out to the local meet. Every year we are forced to find a new place to rid ourselves of police harassment. Everyone needs to join together and say we have had enough... In a democratic way. This is why I have chosen to help, I have simply had enough, the last straw was a couple nights ago when an alarm went off at the TJMax next to Circuit City(our meeting parkinglot). When the police arrived, instead of checking out the building for broken windows or doors, they came straight over and started yelling at us to leave. We are smarter than the average "bear" and had our police radios on when the alarm started blaring. We heard the call for the alarm, we watched them come in and say there was nothing going on over there(without even inspecting the building) but there were "suspected streetracers on scene". Then they turned on their blue lights and got on their P.A.'s and proceeded to force everyone out of the parking lot.

It looks like common sence that they would perfer us there. Here is why:

1. Everywhere we have been there is no crime there, no vandals, no break ins, our presence deter criminals simply because of the quanity of people.

2. We are all in a single area. Why not sit one cop to watch the lot and leave us be instead of disperse us all across the city where there is more chance of accidents, more chance of streetracing, and more chance of agressive driving due to the injustices of the "athorities".

3. If they had one officer "babysitting" us they would be much more successful when attempting to bust street racers. Whenever you see a large group of cars exiting the lot just radio in if it appears they are going to be racing. It is quite obvious when you think about it, all the streetracers who leave the lot to race rev their engines and accellerate quickly out of the parking lot and most are stupid enough to just take it to All American which is a few hundred yards away.

In Texas, California, Nevada, Idaho, Floridia and New Mexico(I am sure more places but those are the ones I have experienced) the police work with the car enthusiests. Why can't they do it here?

They do this by us as well and unfortunately, a lot of the kids ruin it for everyone else. There's always those people that have to show off in front of everyone and do a long burnout in their 87 Civic Hatch w/2 rims on it... So unless you can calm the masses, it will continue to happen.

Why don't you guys just find a 24 hr establishment and talk to the owner? Seems like a lot less hassle..

For the most part cops don't bother us when we have meets, but technically you are loitering and the cops have every right to ask you to leave.

How large are these meets that are getting broken up? Small meets here don't get broken up, but for our large Monday night RiceKiller meets the owner of the RiceKillers had to find a place that the owner was ok with that many cars being there (300+), had to have insurance, and had to have police officers there.

Around here the common place to meet is Sonic, we just pull up and take the place over, never had an issue, we always buy stuff from them and tip the servers well

If you guys need help let me know, I had started a idea with all the "clubs" and car groups around Jville and so far everyone seemed on board.

-Go search for a good sports bar or grill something similar to Hooters or even them and ask them if its possible to have a section of there lot blocked off for car guys and in turn you guys will go in and at the minimum order soft drinks or something in that nature. Thats just a quick idea to get your head going.. Were still planning and trying to find a big enough lot and a good place to sit down and eat. Jville is huge when it comes to the car scene...nothing but Marines with no place to put there money except cars hahaha. Thats just a idea though and I hope it helps a lil.

Police usually have good reason to shut this **** down here. Burnouts, garbage everywhere, shitty music being played, people racing into the lot, fights... And at the end of the day, it's private property which belongs to the mgmt company that owns the mall. They don't want it.

Im all for a having a dedicated meet place for free, but good luck with that. You will need it. The deck is stacked against ricer crowd, which is how this is viewed. Also, it wouldn't put it past someone to sue the person who enabled this should two kids set up a race there and one bites the dust in their hatch, yo.

Recently the kids "high schoolers" have been causing trouble at sonic. The cops run them off and they would go to walmart. Walmart got tired of it so they pushed the city to pass a law. Now it's a 1,000 fine or up to 1 yr in prison for hanging out

It sucks for some places cause with that theres no really turning that around...Around here where its a military town the cops are a lil more helpfull because they would rather have you in a parking lot at a Hooters than out stealing, etc.

Its nowhere near 300+ cars but its an empty Circuit City parking lot. Its public parking and we aren't bothering anyone. We tend to keep our distance away from the random shoppers and usually are out after the shops are closed. Yea we do have a couple of those select people who do stupid **** but usually we are pretty quite. lately it seems like a lot of cops have been patrolling the area trying to catch us doing any little thing they don't agree with. I just want it to stop. It's getting annoying FAST.

I was going to say the same thing, I dont think it matters where you're from, it seems that the cops always have a problem with car enthusists. I dont really understand why theyre so strict on people meeting up, mods, or really anything for that matter.

Look at it this way...do you ever see cops messing with "older" car ppl? such has a 80 or less model car club.....nope they always hold there events in sync with a charity or something in that nature....No need to hold weekly meets like the younger crowd does. Just do a monthly meet at a business that wants more customers and do something special each month. Lets face it were all fairly young and are associated with the idiots that drive beat up Hondas or Eclipses and mustangs lol Its never going to change so the best thing to do is try and seperate your group and do as stated earlier....
