So I went to the track for the first time this year on friday, and on my first run my axle broke going into to 2nd gear. The only reason why i went there is to prove to my wife that my car will beat gt mustangs. i didnt get to line up with one but i did line up with the caliber srt4, we were dead even right off take off but as i said in sencond the half shaft broke right at the hub.

yeah it does. I called a chevy dealership they want 363 to just for the part. but if you know how to do it you can pick the part up for 82.00 and do it your self

sounds exactly like my first experience at the track, and yeah an axle swap isn't difficult at all.

 

it aint that bad. before i joined the marine corps i was a mechanic. so this is an easy job.

but i took this car to the track every friday last year. just this year i wanted to break. the car dont even have 26000 on it yet. i know me and the srt4 would have been a good race. mayber ill catch him next week end.

damn that blows, and going into 2nd too...were you wheel hopping? Must have been a sticky track

 

does anybody know where the kit for stronger axels is? i found them one time before they were 650.00 i do believe and now i cant find it. help please!!

and no there was no wheel hopping at all. i got the solid motor ans trans mounts they stopped all wheel hopping for me.
