sorry i never introduced myself. im rusty. i hate that i had to head home early, it looks like yall had better luck with the security at the mall. and those pics look great SaturnRL.

now can someone tell me why my check engine light is on, and why my supercharger sounds so funny??? im guessin it has somethin to do with the intake sucking up 2098679 gallons of water...

its gonna be the maf sensor or the up stream o2 sensor.. trey has already been throu this one time..

if it didnt drown the engine then its probably just the maf sensor in the intake.. after it dries out good the light should go away.

Rusty I have a scan tool in my car man. The car is gonna run very shitty until you figure out exactly what it is... I'm sorry this happened tho man. I feel ya pain. My filter was soaked when I made it to the mall and aaron had water in his floor board.

I can promise you that you lost your mass air flow sensor. It doesn't take much for it to go. Also, like kevin said, you most likely lost your upstream o2 sensor. Go to advanced auto parts and have them scan it. They'll tell you what's causing the problem. It'll say "system too lean" and then tell you what's making it run lean. let me know when you find out...

Also, go ahead and buy some throttle body cleaner. Disconnect the intake from the throttle body and spray it into the blower. This will displace some of the water... It's aggravating but don't give up on it man. I'm glad I don't have those recaro's now. They stain easily. Like I told you, you have the G85 package with recaro's and the limited slip. I'll tell you anything you wanna know.

Aaron. Your camera is the ****.

Anthony, it was nice meeting you man. Hopefully you can get a new bumper soon. Keep an eye out in the classifieds section...

Kevin and Richard, it sucks you couldn't make it. Maybe next time.

SS/TC dude..... Shame on you for not coming lol no excuses from you. j/k

Destin, like I said, pay off and the car is yours. I'm not looking to get any profit, 1.) because the loan value isn't high enough and 2.) you're a brotha now. Even tho I have thousands of dead presidents in this car, I'd like a fresh start with a new car *ahem*

Aaron... You're in charge of the next meet... Damn mississippi weather.

Edit:
Just got an e-mail. My car is ranked 23 out of 1794 Cobalt SS/SC's on cardomain... Not too bad if you ask me

On the way home nicole took her shoes off and put them down on the floor then said my floor was wet lol... so the water was deeper than i though

This is this coming up Saturday and Sunday folks. I probably won't come because I'm buying some replacement bumpers this week and probably won't have any extra money to goof around... Bad timing I guess. Sorry jojot

Anthony, I need your phone number. Destin, yours too... And Richard yours as well please. PM em if you want... I have a weight slip of my car weighing 2,9xx lbs if I remember right. That was before the carbon fiber hood and body kit too... I think the slip is in my glove box...

Does the new oil have water in it? I drained the oil with water in it, put some cheap havoline back in it to flush the system out, drained the havoline, then refilled with the usual Royal Purple. I assume you changed the filter as well...

I sent you a txt earlier. I was headed thru wiggins and I was gonna stop by and give everything a look and scan the check engine light for you.

If the new oil doesn't have water in it then the car is okay to drive. Like we said before, the MAF sensor and the upstream o2 sensor is probably gone, so it's gonna make your car run really lean. Don't romp on it ANY or try to make it go fast. It won't. Get the car scanned at Advanced Auto Parts there in wiggins first... Txt me tomorrow and let me know what it says. I'll tell you if you need to go to the shop with it tomorrow or not. A new MAF sensor and upstream o2 sensor should do the trick.

The dealer will probably charge you out the ass for those two replacement parts. I know they will... You can get the parts you need from Advanced Auto Parts. Usually they will have it shipped overnight so waiting won't be a big issue. Drive the honda until you get the parts replaced. If you can/wanna wait til the weekend, I and maybe even Kevin can ride over and help you swap out the new parts. There will be a core charge on the MAF sensor btw. There's a few more things I'll need to show you also... Likehow to fix the boost leak that you'll get from a bearing rusting in the blower from the water. You need to buy a recharge kit and re-oil your air filter. Wash it good first. Let it dry. Then re-oil it.

Enough lecture for tonight. I didn't get my hood pins installed today. My dog Jake chewed up my hard hat for work so I had to make another run to the coast today for a few things...

the car is still under the full warranty so the parts and stuff should be free, i gotta go up there anyway to show them the exhaust leak, trans grinding, and pas window is super slow. and the warranty ends after 36000 and im at 35600 now.

sorry i didn't text you back trey, i was probably at church, and as far as i can tell there is no more water in the oil, and yeah i changed the filter too. ill let you know what they say at the dealership tomorrow.

Lol the site i got that from also said this.

If you'd like your Ionizer in another flavor, check out the eighth-place Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged, with which it shares an engine, seats, limited-slip diff, and chassis.

2007 Saturn Ion Red Line

Fifth Place: The Quickest Cars of 2007: $20,000 to $25,000: 2007 Saturn Ion Red Line

Base price: $20,490
0-to-60-mph time: 6.0 sec
Quarter-mile time: 14.6 sec @ 98 mph

The words "Red Line" are to Saturn what the initials "AMG" are to Mercedes-Benz. Sort of. The idea was to diminish the perception that Saturn is merely the car company for persons too timid to haggle with salesmen.

In truth, there's plenty to admire here: 205 supercharged horses, delivered without the on/off quality of most turbocharged engines and with virtually no trace of torque steer. A competent, well-planted suspension. Rear suicide doors that are cleverly hidden to make this sedan look like a coupe. And brakes capable of shedding 70 mph in just 164 feet—Porsche territory.

Oh yea and the cobalt was ranged #8 by car and driver and ion #5

2007 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged

Eighth Place: The Quickest Cars of 2007: $20,000 to $25,000

Base price: $21,540
0-to-60-mph time: 6.1 sec
Quarter-mile time: 14.6 sec @ 99 mph

The Cobalt SS Supercharged is the Saturn Ion Red Line's mechanical kissing cousin, but tuning differences imbue them with different personalities. For one thing, the Cobalt feels longer and heavier, and its dogged sense of straight-ahead makes it a better long-distance interstate cruiser. Speaking of which, its rear seat will accommodate three actual adult humans.

But the Cobalt is also pockmarked by a few of the Ion's pimples—artificial steering feel, a heavy clutch, and an edge to its 205-horse 2.0-liter Ecotec, which leans toward thrashiness above four grand and wants to hang onto revs a little too long when you jump off the gas. Then there are those long doors, which aid ingress but are quick to remind of their length in tight parking spaces. Remember the Camaro?

In this group, the Cobalt SS is solid and friendly, but it lacks the visceral feedback of the Subaru or the sporty steering of the Mazda or the Lexus-like refinement of the Camry or the look-at-me styling of the Mitsubishi. A car has to do at least one thing really well to become an all-star. As it is, the Cobalt SS is just another competent player, resting its huge rear spoiler on the vehicular bench.
