NC Piedmont(ish) Meet. Lets do this!!

There hasn't been a good meet up for the piedmont area in a while. So lets make this happen! There are plenty of us scattered about, so lets meet up and run a track. I was thinking maybe..

The Rock? http://www.rockinghamdragway.com/

I know there are alot of Cobalts in the area that would be willing to make the drive, we just have to get it organized and POSITIVE that it is happening and people will committ.

Anyone in the Raleigh area can meet up at my house or somewhere, and we could cruise out there together..

And DSLSJA, you guys have alot of people, and meet up often, so maybe you guys could organize your crew and make the haul out there? I think its only like 80 miles from Charlotte..

I won't suggest a date until this post gets some replies from people willing to make the trip, since throwing a date out there often deters people that couldnt make that date specifically.

So anyone interested? Or is the NC piedmont area just a bunch of lazy bitches and bastards?

The DSLSJA is always up for a meet... but the next month or so are gonna be pretty busy for us. This is gonna have to happen sometime in October if we're gonna be there in force.

I'll link this to the LSJ site... so the boys from over there can see it as well.

Agreed with Raine. September is going to be very hectic and some of October as well. Either way, I'm in and will try to make whatever the date is.

I like the feedback, and October could be could since it is far enough out to thoroughly plan it..

Maybe October 13th? Its the second Saturday of October..

Feel free to suggest other dates that may be more suitable. I figure once we get a mild consensus on a date, we can start a list of people coming..

Whups, just checked the schedule too, and saw the lack of street drag like Matt just said..

DSLSJA.. Is there any time in September that may be doable? I would love to have a gigantor meet, but November is soooo far away..

Or what about a different track? I don't know much about the tracks in the area, so maybe someone could suggest a different place that would allow us?

There are several 1/8th mile tracks in the area. We could always find one that would be more "centrally located" so everyone could just meet in the middle.

Mooresville is a very professional setup... a lot of NHRA guys test there. You can't beat true 1/4th mile action... but as was pointed out there are no street drag days in Oct. for the Rock.

I definately don't want to push this off till november... there will be a whole 'nother mess of stuff to take care of then.

that may be on the limit as far as distance goes. id hate to drive 3 hrs for a meet. but i might do it if we got a caravan from simpsonville or something.

the 13th is not good for me though, the weekend before or after should be though.

I'm beginning to think that maybe just another meet at Photo's house would be good.

That way it's within about 2 hours for you SC guys... and about the same for the Raliegh crew... no drag strips in CLT... but from what I've seen none of the 1/8th mile tracks do test-n-tune on the weekends anyways... so that kinda sucks.

I dont mind a longer drive if im cruising with a few other people. I'm down for whatever, but 3+ hours is going to be hard to get others on board..

I guess we don't even have to have a track present for the meet, I just suggested it for the people that dont like street racing.. I just wanna run against a few Cobalts.. Either way though, I'm happy if we get 10+ cars..

I can do any time/any date as long as I have 2 weeks notice..

Not familiar with where you guys are talking about, but once again i'm down..

I just want to get together with a bunch of other people. i havnt been to a meet in ages, so i'm cool with whatever gets the most people.

It seems like the date is more of the issue here. It sounds like October is going to be hard to do, but November seems too far out.

I say lets shoot for October and hope for the best. I'll throw up October 20th just to put a date out there. Where is the next question, but how about some feedback of people that think they could make October 20th(Saturday) assuming it will be less than 3hour drive.

Fayetville works for me, especially cause caravaning there will be half the fun(as long as i dont get a ticket on the way there).

I just want to see if October 20th brings enough people out
