Hey guys, most of the Raleigh cobalt owners I have met, but I need someones help with something. This past week, my balt has been making a weird noise. I first thought it was an exhaust leak, or a loose baffle in the resonator, but now the noise seems to be coming closer to the front of the car, so I am wondering if it is coming from the supercharger. I was hoping to get another s/c cobalt next to mine, so i can compare s/c noise to see if that is what is making the noise. I still think it is the exhaust, but i got a second opinion, and he seems to think it is the s/c. but he doesnt know superchargers, so i dont take his opion too seriously.

Anyways, if anyone in Raleigh has some time to get together to do some comparing, it would be a huge help. Thanks guys!

 

Is it a light rattling noise coming from the back of the engine when you have the hood up. i am having that noise right now. it started doing that after i got my stage 2. it almost sounds like there is a bolt or something loose in the engine somewhere.

a while back i had an injector in bank one go lean on me and i am thinking i have a seal that is burnt out but i havent got in there to see for sure.

 

Ya know, its really hard to put a finger on where exactly its coming from. I feel like it is either the exhaust manifold, or downpipe. It doesnt seem to be coming from my corsa catback, and i feel that it isnt the s/c. If I had extra gaskets for the stock parts of my exhaust, i would investigate by taking the parts off. I think I am just going to put my stage2 pulley back on, and take it to the stealership. It just sucks becasue they dont have much experience with cobalts, especially supercharged ones. They are really cool about warranty work there, but its going to be hard to point the noise out since they are unfamiliar with the car.

But yeah, it does seem to be from the back of the engine. It is very hard to hear during idle, but under throttle it is much more noticible. Especially if the A/C is on. Not that it is related to the A/C..

If anyone in the area has a few minutes to do a drive along with me so see if they have a guess as to what the noise is, i'd appreciate it. I'll buy a couple beers or something..

We will meet for a few hours till everyone shows up and then we are going to cruise to the Piedmont Dragway where they are having "Chevy Day" and test-n-tune street legal drags.

The gates open at noon and they run the track from 1-4pm. If you plan to run i suggest you bring a helmet just incase they aren't optional. also bring enough money for food and entry into the track...

As of this morning i have 15 Coby's confirmed showing to the meet.

were getting close to that time of the month. Oct 19th is the day of the 1st state wide meet that i know of here in NC...

so far we have 27+ supposed to be there. Some are meeting at the mall and the rest are meeting at the dragstrip...i spoke with the track manager and he said if we have enough show up they are going to have a whole staging lane roped off just for us. if you have any questions please call me at
