Who is goin out tonight?

 

Can't say we have, but would love to have some. This start 8 years ago as the Florida J-Body meet. It is primary J's, but we are trying to get more other GM FWD/sportcompact cars involved.

It is June 22-24. Friday night is track night at Speed World. Saturday is the show starting at 12-4pm. Show is at Old-town. We have a host hotel Comfort Suites Maingate East 1-888-784-8379. Today is the cut off for the group rate of $85 a night. If you call you have to tell them Florida J-Body for that rate. Pre-register is $15 for the show and $20 day of. You can pre-register at www.street-line.net if you get I think 5+ cars pre-registered they will put up classes for your type of car. Sunday we have a dyno day at VMP Tuning in Orlando. $45 for 2 pulls with air/fuel reading and print out. they do offer HPT tuning but that is extra. Also the track cost is extra and not included in the pre-regristration.

I will be leaving Friday afternoon to head down and get ready for the track. If anyone is going down Friday we can meet and cruise down together. There will be give aways as well.

sounds good... should be able to go.....um sorry i didnt catch this before but we went out to Sonic it was a pretty good meet tonight three of us were out there and a bunch of friends from EURO a Vdub crew we hang with. had a few runs and a lil cruise later on in the night overall it was a good night

 

ya that cruise was a lot of fun. Thank god that cop car didnt have a cop in it on 9A north. lol

 

When did this happen, after I left?

 

That car is always on 9A. They move it weekly to different locations. It has gotten me a couple times.

 

Ya you already left. I was doing about 95, but justin was doing about 110ish. Lol prolly freaked him out real good

 

haha yea i ******* **** my pants I just started thinking that i was fucked but then there was no radar and no light came on so i calmed down haha but it did scare the **** out of me. Hey about how many cars did i have the Tbird by do you remember b/c my mind went blank after that cop scare

You guys hitting the track at G'ville?? Does the local J-Body group ever do track days?

We do from time to time. I have not been since Nov. That was the last time a group of J's went. I love to drag race at the track. We have a couple guys into Auto-X. Looking forward to the Friday track night in Orlando June 22.

I have been wanting to go to Georgia to try the track up there. They say it is 2 tenths faster in the hot of the day compared to Gainesville nighttime.

 

hmm...where in georgia is it? and if some of your friends like autox you should come out to reynolds industrial park sometime. they have autox runs there every so often that me and my friends attend

 

Went out last night to Sonic and met a guy out there with a Silver 4 door Cavalier (completly stock looking) with a Z24 swap in it that was making some really good power. I think he said it was in the area of like 290WHP all motor... any of you guys know the car. He was hanging out with a Silver '04 GT Mustang with a nice 100Shot Nitrous setup on it.

 

Um im not to sure who it is but those numbers sound pretty fake to me.....I dont really think he could gain 140hp from N/A mods. But hey john would know all about that b/c he has a pretty quick z24 N/A

 

The numbers did not sound right to me either but I am not a Z24 guy so I dont know. From what he was talking it had a stroked 3800 crank, forged high compression pistons from JE, cams, Fully ported and polished head + intake mani and full exhaust + header and a fully tuned ECU.

The car was defnatly very very quick...thats all I know. My bet is he is squeezing since he would not open his hood up for anyone.
