I used to pay $190 a month for the cobalt but when I got the jeep I bundled the policies and lowered the cobalt to 8000 miles a year. Went down to $146 for both the jeep and cobalt

U must have an accident or ticket on your record. If not then maybe your mom has bad credit, ticket, or accident that is effecting it. I think I never paid over 150 even when I was 16 with a camaro. U usually get a discount with auto payment and paying 6 months in advance. I found Allstate was cheaper even after I was with state farm for 8 years and my mom had them for 15+ years with multiple policies.

I think there might be a miscommunication. Was your previous mentioned price of $280 the total per a month for both your mom and you? Or just the cost for your cobalt?

Find out your coverage amounts and deductibles and ask about discounts you can apply for. I did a couple simple tests at home from a book to get discounts when I was a teenager.
