Did you genade the sleeve or did it just get chunks out of it from the pistons (or whatever blew)

Just got an 18K mile engine with another turbo. (2800 shipped) Apparently my turbo that was on there was cracked too. So im not gonna build it, Just gonna run it carefully for a bit. Also going to throw in a new clutch, and rotated engine mounted.

Ya I'm going to take it easy for awhile my clutch is finally starting to slip need to get some final parts for the build and the new clutch will go in at the same time

im gonna throw a new clutch in while im at it too. Anyone got something that can hold over 400 ftlbs for sale?

 

So I think the techs were trying to just make more money off of me. THe sleeves were not cracked anywhhere. 3 out of 4 pistons were good. My cams were fine. Yes the turbo was cracked. But the excuse for the tune was not a very good one. I honestly think they were lying to me. They said "I had a calibration for 30 PSI of boost." Riddle me this. how do you get a series of numbers to say that it is calibrated for 30 PSI. I was not hitting 30 PSI anyways.

 

They were covering their ass. When I worked at a GM dealership, as a tech, when engines went I quoted them for almost everything just to be safe.

 

the sleeves were not cracked though.... thats what pissed me off. They said I needed sleeves..... The sleeves were fine. They were not even scored.... thanks E85
