OL is used only when the WB is not up to temperature yet or right after a reflash. Normally the OL/CL transition happens within 2-3 minutes of cold starting the car or reflashing the car. Normally a LNF knocking in OL only is due to the MAF tuning being off (wacked out fuel trims). The LNFs love to rich knock at part throttle. If the MAF tuning is way off the WB cannot always keep up with fluctuations in A/F it tries to keep the car at 1.00 lambda but sometimes it over or undercorrects which leaves the car running richer or leaner than it should which will cause knock. The weird thing though is that his car still knocked just the same when he threw in a few gallons of 100 octane gas. That makes me think there is a mechanical issue with the car?
Well he needs to throw 50/50 E85 then see if it knocks.
Just strange that it doesnt knock in OL but does in closed. That is where it doesnt seem mechancial right? It would do in both OL and CL...
Whats up Wolverine
